I've been ttc 11 months now. Very early loss in December and nothing else. Been off alcohol and caffeine and doing everything right

This month I wanted a month off (though still did OPK's). We didn't really try and I seem to have ovulated early for me (around CD 14/15). I then went on holiday last week and had some drinks and ate what I wanted. Didn't go wild as was with kids but still 1-3 drinks per day. Ended up testing at 10 dpo just in case and it was positive! So last had a drink at what must have been 9dpo.

I feel awful after being good so long and now it's happened the one time I relaxed and wasn't careful!

Don't worry! Think how many people this happens to and they have happy, healthy babies. Some drink all the way through their pregnancy not knowing they are pregnant! Congratulations on your BFP! ✨️

Congrats. Nothing to feel bad or guilty about. You body was chilled, you mind was chilled. Far from it going against you, it might be that it helped.

Thank you so might for quick and reassuring replies!
I can't stop crying I feel it's finally happened and I've potentially caused terrible damage

Please try to let yourself relax and not worry, and just enjoy this early stage knowing you've conceived! Have some chocolate and smile, laugh, and all the good stuff for the baby! I'm no expert but I don't think that at this very early stage you could have caused that much damage.

Thank you
It just seems such bad timing when I've been so careful for so long and did everything right and I've conceived the one time I wasn't careful!

Congratulations!!! No harm done. Relax and enjoy the amazing news. The get away was probably exactly what you needed. Sometimes you just stop trying and let loose which makes miracle babies.

Relax! No harm done, it’s so early and it sounds like you’ve barely touched alcohol with the amount you were having. My friend didn’t find out she was pregnant until 6 months (she had no idea and literally pooped with a 6 month bump a few days after finding out, and she had been pregnant twice before!) and she attended my hen party and everything which was a bit mental. She was drinking casually most weekends and everything and baby is a very happy and very healthy 6 year old. She felt awful too as she got the shock of her life, but one or two drinks here and there isn’t going to cause any issue!

I also have another friend who was paranoid when she found out as she hadn’t actively been trying and she was drinking the month before she found out and her GP told her not to worry- he said the only reason they tell pregnant women not to drink is because it’s easier to have a hard and fast rule rather than say minimal amounts of alcohol as some people will take the piss. Sure in other countries women drink 1-2 glasses per wine a day when pregnant! You’ll be absolutely fine. Start enjoying your news and stop being so hard on yourself. You’re not the first and you won’t be the last to drink not knowing you were pregnant!

Whoops - *popped with a bump not pooped!
