Is this a chemical or related to smear?

Hi all,
I am currently TTC number 5, and have had a MMCs in the last 2 years and I’m 41 now.

I’m CD10 today. This last period I’ve had has been weird compared to normal. Usually it’s fairly light and lasts 3-4 days and usually no cramps. This one arrived exactly on the day it was due but has been a bit heavier, mild cramps, and has lasted 6 days. I thought it was over but yesterday at CD9 I had some red-tinted CM when I wiped first thing but then had some dark brown spotting after going for a run.

This hasn’t happened before! I had a smear test 2 weeks ago (came back negative) and in that she said my cervix looked normal with no sign of cervical ectropion that I’ve had in the past. It did bleed but only for 1 day.

We also hadn’t BDd yet this cycle… and I use opks and bbt track but don’t test early as we are on cycle 14 ttc now and neither of us can cope with BFNs month after month.

Could my unusual period have been a chemical pregnancy? Has anyone experienced similar?

I had an unusual bleed a few years ago that lasted 9 days and gp said it was a chemical- I wasn’t convinced as I didn’t see a positive test.
theres no way of knowing really-
im similar age and my periods have changed so much- they last 1.5 days now instead of 5 days bleeding.
good luck! I’m ttc #4
