Hi Everyone. I’m due to get my copper coil removed on the 29th April and I ovulate on the same day. Has anyone had any luck in getting pregnant post removal first cycle - just wondering in regards to likelihood if we are regularly having sex up until that point (very excited and very impatient haha can you tell)!!

I’m assuming you haven’t had a copper coil removed before? And that you are doing this on the NHS?

No haven’t had one removed before and I am
visiting a sexual health clinic for the removal

I did, yay, straight away caught on, however it ended in EP.

I had mine removed 16th sep 2022 and tested positive 10days after conception on 16th Feb 2023.

Me! Tested positive 13 days post coil removal (9 DPO). I’m now nearly 18 weeks pregnant.

If you are actively trying then DTD a day or two before your coil removal to maximise your chances as the sperm can survive and as soon as the copper coil is gone you are fertile straight away.

I was told to not have unprotected sex for 7 days prior to removal for this reason. I thought “yeah, yeah, what are the chances”. Apparently very high.

I’ve done this twice (at 25 and again at 34) and each time fallen pregnant the month after. Each time I’d been told it would probably take six months for my system to settle back down. Both pregnancies were fine.

Yep, first ovulation after removal was the only one we needed, so definitely possible.
