Hi all,
first time of trying after MMC.
period came 8 weeks after MC and lasted 5 days - usually 4. Flo predicted my fertile window to start tomorrow with ovulation on 21st. Prenom predicted I ovulated yesterday because I got a peak 14th April. Issue is I did an ovulation test and it came up 1.4 and then did another 1 min later and it had gone down. My ovulation tests are all very low now.

can anyone shed any light on why I’d get a peak and 1 min later be low.

I’ve attached photo for clarity. I redid some tests because I was thinking maybe there was something wrong with the test.

Hi OP, sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you're doing OK. I would disregard predictions made by the apps as they are just guesses. Confirming ovulation by OPK/BBT/blood test is the only way to know, the apps just make predictions. Especially after a miscarriage they will he even less reliable.

Now with your LH tests, just to make sure I'm reading it right, is it test line to the left, and control line to the right? In that case, the test showing 'peak' is definitely not a peak. It's not as dark or darker than the control line. I would imagine the app has picked it up wrong due to lighting and position of the test. I always found the app unreliable with reading them and think you get a much better impression from your own eye.

Yes I thought that myself because previously (when I fell pregnant) it was darker. I’ll keep testing 🤞

I don’t think that’s a peak, I think it’s a bad photo. I’d delete that reading and see how it recalibrates. Good luck, and sorry to hear about your miscarriage Daffodil

OliveBee2 · 16/04/2025 17:46

Agreed - the photo doesn’t look quite right, I think the app has given the reading above 1 by mistake (as the line is definitely lighter than the control line)

when I used premom I always scanned the test a couple of times before saving to make sure it agreed with the reading

looking at your tests you haven’t found your peak yet so keep testing - good luck

out of interest what is the best light to take the pictures. I’m having a nightmare 😂

I agree, delete that reading. You’ve taken the photo in a too bright environment it looks like but you can still see on the photo that the test line is much lighter than the control line which means it is a negative ovulation test.

You need to take your photos in the same place and same lighting every day really to get an accurate measure- I did mine on a piece of A4 white paper so the background was plain & the camera could focus on the test, and in natural lighting x

I’ve deleted it now and it’s saying ovulation is 20th which links better with Flo.

I always take my pics on the side of the bath. Difficult with spot lights on but then too dark without.

A white windowsill not in direct sunlight I found to be the most consistent and easy to read for ovulation tests.
