Why are my tests not getting darker :(

I had a positive easy@home on Friday afternoon but since then tests don’t seem to be going anywhere. What is everyone’s opinions? We’ve waited 4 years for this moment so I don’t know if I’m maybe just over worrying

Stop testing for a few days

TY78910 · 13/04/2025 06:41

If you only tested positive on Friday (assuming the top easy@home test is from then and the last one is from today which is a Sunday) then your tests have gotten darker?

I understand the anxiety when you’ve TTC for 4 years, but don’t obsess over the colour of the tests like this when they’re not that far apart. Give it a couple of days. HCG doubles every 48h

TY78910 · 13/04/2025 06:41

oh, and congratulations!

flutterbye99 · 13/04/2025 06:50

@Prayingforamiracle2 take out the 6 tests in the middle and compare the top and bottom. That’s progression and it’s not even 48 hours yet as that’ll be this afternoon.

please don’t mix the brands when you’re comparing tests because you’ll end up worrying more. Some tests get darker quicker than others.

going by them tests you’re still really early so if your HCG was at 10miu then this afternoon it’ll be 20miu then on Tuesday afternoon it’ll be 40miu then Thursday it’ll be 80miu.. these tests show positives but you’re unlikely to get a strong positive until the end of the week.

I wouldn’t tell you to stop testing as I have been there and I wouldn’t have found out about my ectopic if I had stopped testing but I will tell you to compare every 48 hours 😊

It’s really hard, but put the tests down. That’s a huge number to have taken since Friday. Compare your first and last and there is a clear difference. That said, pregnancy tests aren’t designed for the purpose of monitoring progression so I’d avoid going down that route at all if you can help if - it can lead to a lot of unnecessary worry. They are designed to show a binary outcome - pregnant or not pregnant. Yours show you are pregnant, try to sit with that for now. Hopefully all will go well.

How many dpo are you?

Those tests are awful imo. I have dark lines and am progressing on the clear blue weeks indicator tests hut my easy@home tests are barely there

NW3Lady · 13/04/2025 07:02

I had this. I went for HCG testing in the end (privately) as it was causing me so much concern. My doctor was very reassuring that these tests are not designed to measure progression and are affected by hydration, etc.

I can’t find it now but somewhere on my phone I have a photo of two lines which look virtually identical but my HCG was more than double for the second one.

Sorry this is such a worrying time. Good luck.

I'm assuming they're lined up in order? If so, they're certainly progressing. Blood HCG should double every 48 hours which looking at the top and bottom tests seems likely. Every batch of tests could have varying levels of dye, it's an indicator of nothing.
You're pregnant, congratulations! Put the tests down and enjoy the moment you've waited 4 years for, nothing good is going to come from feeding the anxiety (trust me on that! Only realised how unwell I was when I had a second child and didn't have it.)

Prayingforamiracle2 · 13/04/2025 07:46

Thank you everyone you’ve made me feel a bit better I’m going to put tests down and just test once a day. I think I’m just over thinking everything!

My tests never get very dark. I've a 3 year old and I'm 28 weeks pregnant. So for me the lightness of the lines didn't mean much.

Take a digital and see it in words, then stop testing!
congrats looks promising so far 🤞🏻
