I won’t bore you all with my life history but potted version so I’m not too told off for it being early! Had my first transfer (hatching 5AB) in April 2022, tested positive 4dp5dt and it continued to get stronger. I now have a wonderful 2 year old so I am fully aware how lucky I am. I tested so early because my symptoms were wildly strong and I just sort of knew.
Had a second transfer at 3.30 on Monday (FET also 5AB) and no symptoms at all - even before I had the transfer I had a bad feeling (fully aware that’s just stupid). Anyway, you all know the punchline….tested at 5dp5dt and negative and just tested now on a FRER and it’s a negative. I’ve been scouring the forums of the last 2 decades and I am seeing some people saying the Frosties can be slower.
I’d love to hear if anyone has got a BFN at this point and gone on to have a successful cycle? Bonus points if you had early BFP on a fresh and later BFP on a frostie ☺️
tysm wonderful people ❤️

edited to add: also give it to me straight, if I’m more than likely out (which I already think) do tell me

i also posted in infertility as wasn’t sure what was best

So you are effectively 11dpo?

First Response's website says FRERs pick up 86% of pregnancies at 11dpo (they call it 4 days before expected period, but I assume expected period is 15dpo). https://www.firstresponse.com/en/articles-listings/accuracy-and-knowing-sooner#:~:text=How%20Accurate%20Are%20Pregnancy%20Tests,these%20tests%20before%20taking%20them.

So if you used FMU, I'd say that to be honest you are probably not pregnant, but there is still a slim chance you are. Hope this helps x

Lostmyusernametoday · 06/04/2025 20:24

@Grimbeorn thanks - I didn’t, I just did it now, would that make a big enough difference? Last time they were all just positive any time from 4dp5dt

I believe at these early stages it can make a big difference yes. It varies between people. But if you have another FRER, use it with FMU tomorrow (or the day after would be better for a definitive answer).

@Grimbeorn thanks again for taking the time to reply to me, I’m gutted and haven’t told anyone irl so seeing a lil notification that someone had responded was really nice ☺️

I had a BFP at 4dp5dt on both my fresh and frozen transfers. I’m sorry but it’s looking more likely that it hasn’t been successful this time op. I know how much is invested in each transfer so I really wish it was a better outcome for you.

Lostmyusernametoday · 06/04/2025 20:32

@YoungMacDonald thanks for letting me know, that’s helpful. And congratulations to you! ☺️

Right, nothing I say is going to help because you're going to stress about it anyway BUT:

7 IVF cycles. I know that it should be going positive by 5dp5dt if it's going to work, we've all read the Reddit post!

Last cycle of seven - tested am of 4dp5dt. Stark negative. Tested morning of 5dp5dt - negative again. Lost my ever loving shit, like literally sat on the tarmac outside the softplay I was meant to be taking my daughter to and cried and cried and cried and cried. Tested again that evening - negative.

Tested again morning of 6dp5dt - feint line. Looked back at two 5dp5dt tests and they had the squintiest of squinty squinty lines that had only come up after they were totally dry. If you search my name you might find my post i made at the time with my line progression. All FRERs, so feint they wouldn't have come up on normal tests.

Now 14 weeks pregnant.

You're not out until you're out- but i know it is the absolute shittest process. Lots of support sent your way x

Lostmyusernametoday · 06/04/2025 20:39

@TheQuietestSpace ah thank you for that! I’m 99.9999% sure there’s no squinters there. I haven’t lost my shit but your description made me smile. Inside I’m outside the soft play with you 😂😂.

I feel so stupid, my clinic were like see you in 3 years time you’ve got enough for a football team here so I kinda thought even though I’m not feeling great about it they are (side note, we have a meeting issue male factor and both had high quality so we do have lots more which I know is lucky, sounds like you’ve had it much tougher…I’m sorry for that, and so happy for you that you’re pregnant. I really hope it’s an easy one for you ❤️)

Please try to be compassionate to yourself..my daughter was a first cycle success. Similarly I then waited until I was ready for another... and then had 3yrs of repeated failures with the clinic constantly telling me that there was no reason and we 'should' be fine. Used up the embryos left from my daughter's round and then had 12 made, 7 pgt-a normal, and the first of those STILL failed and I was absolutely convinced that was game over and id ruined everything by waiting so long etc. Second pgt-a one worked.

The hardest part of the process is that nothing you can do makes any difference to the outcome- but equally, NOTHING YOU CAN DO makes it your fault. We are all just doing the best we can with the information we have at the time x

Lostmyusernametoday · 06/04/2025 20:52

@TheQuietestSpace im definitely in the why on earth did I wait so long headspace, i probably should’ve started a year ago. But tbh even this time, perfect embryo, perfect lining, they were like yeah you’ll be pregnant (inferred of course). I’m already googling when I can do it again, I was hoping off this period (due in two days and judging by mood it’s well on its way), but it reads as though maybe not which is annoying, my DH is 40 next Jan which now somehow feels important.

anyway I know I’m really moaning over not very much compared to the state of the world so I’m sure I’ll pull myself out of it tomorrow and thank you again for taking the time and being so kind x

Not exactly the same thing but in 2021 after 12months of ivf we transferred a 3 day fresh embryo. I had negative hpt right up until 9dp3dt and I mean it was a squinter, it wasn't until 11dpt that it was more noticeable but still extremely faint. My beta results on 14dpt was 94 or there abouts. That pregnancy progressed , though not without its ups and downs but that embryo is now a 3yr old little boy. My point is sometimes late implantation happens and still can be successful. I think if you test around 9dp5dt and it's still negative then I'd say your out.

@Miraclemuma03 thanks so much for your response, what a story ❤️ I’m so glad it worked out for you. I’ve been up since 4.30 which always happens as I’m about to get my period and I can literally feel it coming so I won’t have a positive outcome this time 😔

@Miraclemuma03 thank you, and thank you for taking the time to share your story. Really kind of you, and hopefully will give a future me scouring the boards some hope too ❤️
