TTC after Methrotrexate

Afternoon!

I was looking for some advice on TTC after Methotrexate.

I had methotrexate administered on 17th February. 4 weeks later, I tested negative for HCG and I started taking 5mg folic acid daily, again since then. I also took this dosage before being pregnant.

We are looking to start TTC as soon as we are able, but which cycle would this be from?

Next month, I would most likely ovulate around 6-8th May.

Could I try this cycle? Or is this technically still too early?

The manufacturers of methotrexate recommend waiting at least 6 months after treatment before discontinuing contraception. (Source: BNF). I would recommend talking to your doctor about it.

@Ddiscombobulatedthe NHS says 3 months as it can take up to 3 months for the methotrexate to come out of your system. With the drug still in your system it’s highly likely you will miscarry anything that tries to grow in that time.

id use this time to build up your folic acid and iron etc and be the best version of yourself and then try again after 12 weeks.

I fell with my rainbow baby 3.5 months after my methotrexate 😊

I've been taking high dose folic acid and iron for a month now. Along with a prenatal vitamins.

I'd be ovulating around the 7th May next month.

So am I best, waiting till June?

i personally would as you know then that anything that happens it wouldn’t be the result of still having methotrexate in your system.😊
