I had 2 eggs retrieved. One was transferred as an early blast and the other left to culture to fay 6 which was later frozen as 4BC.

My fresh cycle resulted in a pregnancy which I had to TFMR at 4.5 months due to T21 and some brain abnormalities.

What I am asking is. Would you risk using the day 6 on ice? My partner and I would like to try again without stimming. However, u guess we both had PTSD and seeing they’re from the same cohort, we’re uncertain. My fertility doctor doesn’t have any concerns.

No PGT testing complete.

I'm so sorry you have both been through something so horrific and can completely understand the PTSD.

Is is possible to test the other one now or is it too late?

Can the clinic tell you the liklihood of the other having the same issue? It might have been a real rare occurance or they might have said there was an issue with egg or sperm quality etc which could indicate either way if others were affected.

Can they you if the pregancy was always going to end this way or if it eas just unlucky it didn't develop healthily?

My guess, and it's only a guess, is that you were just really unlucky on this occasion.

If it was me I would speak to the clinic but I'd probably try again with frozen one, especially if the clinic don't have any concerns.

Like you I had to have a tfmr at 4mths gestation due to turners syndrome which our baby could have had a perfectly fine life with but unfortunately a severe heart condition that wasn't compatible with life was the end all for us, baby was a fet. We decided to transfer another frozen embryo without testing and we got our beautiful now 14mth old daughter, with ivf its rare to have something like this happen but sometimes it does but it doesn't mean you will have this heartbreak happen again. I'm so glad we decided to transfer again other wise we wouldn't have our daughter.

So sorry you have been through this. We have a 10 year old from fresh IVF and have two frozen embryos. Ive had three natural pregnancies since that have all ended unfortunately, one chemical and two TFMR, the last being at 14 weeks for T21, a severe cystic hygroma and likely heart abnormalities. TFMRs were complicated, requiring multiple procedures and we too are traumatised.

I'm now over 40 and have contacted the clinic for a FET but I'm riddled with worry. I'm just waiting on a positive ovulation test to proceed.

We haven't tested our embryos but I'm told it's around £500 per embryo and takes 3 weeks for results. A friend recently did this and had to destroy one as it 100% would've ended in miscarriage. Despite this we won't be testing ours.

Good luck with your decision, I know it's not easy, I've lost so much sleep over it these last few weeks. I don't have time on my side and it that which it causing me so much distress 😞

I’ve just had a TFMR for T21, I’ve 3 recurrent miscarriages before this one of which was tested but was a different chromosome problem. We are now being referred to a genetics team however have been told the chance of the T21 being genetic are actually very small, losses were likely “bad luck” (I also think my egg quality must not be great therefore I am doing things to improve this with lifestyle/supplements) due to this and the genetic referrals taking a long time we have decided to risk it and try again, also if we get pregnant in the meantime it will speed the genetic referrals up.

Thank you all for responding. Also, sorry for some of the difficulties you faced during your ttc journies and the ones you continue to experience.

I am going to have a chat with my clinic. Hopefully they can answer some questions. If we did become pregnant again. I’d definitely be having some therapy alongside it.

I wish you all the best x
