Finally my BFP or just false positives?

Hey Ladies,

I am wondering your thoughts on these One Step Tests I have done over the past couple of days. I have been trying TTC for over ten years and am struggling to believe this might actually be finally happening! I have read that these tests can produce false positives/evaporation lines etc and am so scared to get my hopes up. I have some more expensive tests arriving in the next couple of days but am going out of my mind in the meantime overthinking it probably. What do you think?

Thanks so much. I am hoping and praying surely I can't be that unlucky. I have had one or two over the years but these look pretty pink unless my eyes are deceiving me 😊

I can’t see how that many tests can be wrong. I really really hope it is for you. As others have said, wait a few days and try another brand of test. Keeping everything crossed!

Oh no they’re defo positive there is color in the lines, an evap would have no colour. I’d get
yourself and early digital test do you can see it in writing 😌

Thankyou for replying. I got my definite BFP yesterday. Feeling a bit silly for questioning those tests but I think after over 10 years of nothing I couldn't quite believe my eyes. Thank you for your reassurance 😊

Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply, I did take some First Response yesterday and got a definite BFP. I've read a fair few horror stories of strong false posatives with those cheap tests so convinced myself that was the case but it turns out they really were correct. Thankyou for your well wishes we are very excited and can't wait to share the news with family, we have been together 17 years and it has been a long time coming 🥰

@10yearsTTCformecongrats! 🥳 word to the wise, stay away from the one step tests for progression if you head that route(defo advise not to but get a digital for sure!) they’re terrible for progression and had me in an awful panic I was having chemical once 🤣

Tracking progression on tests can be such a slippery slope can’t it. Reassuring for some, but anxiety inducing for others. If we’re lucky to fall soon then I’m making myself stop at just a couple tests to confirm. I know I’ll obsess if I start that road!

Thankyou so much! I have actually just been thinking about grabbing some more tests just to do one every few days to make sure I'm still pregnant but I absaloutely will not be using those One Step. I have read they can give massively varied results even from the same urine sample. Credit where credits due they did work but the first response I took the day after these was so much clearer so I think I'll probably stick with them and a digital 😊

Let yourself be excited. Nobody knows what might happen, but today you are pregnant! Something it (understandably) sounds like you didn’t even think you could ever be. That’s a bloody good reason to allow yourself to feel all that joy. When I got my first BFP, I was so excited I carried around that first proper test with me for over a fortnight and would randomly get it out of my bag to have another look 🤣🤣

@jelliebean9yea it’s so bad isn’t it! I always fall into the trap of it too but I really done a number on myself anxiety wise this time round as was under so much pressure thinking they weren’t progessing when all was fine and I’m 9+4 today!

@10yearsTTCformei think they’re good tests for early detection but they seem to take an age to get darker. They used to be a really good brand but changed the formula or something a few years ago. The boots 5 days earlier are great! 😊

I love this OP - congratulations! I know the joy you feel as we had IVF - the belief it will never happen and then it does - the joy is indescribable.
