Hi, a photo will appear eventually...

I can't remember when my last periods exactly were as I factory reset my phone and all my Flo data disappeared 😭 but I do know it told me that my estimated ovulation date was on Sunday 23rd Feb and I've played with the period dates until it looks 'right' to me, with the ovulation date showing as that Sunday.

I did have unprotected sex on the 24th Feb.

So according to the app I'm 5 days late for my period. I came off birth control in December and my periods have been regular since Jan but I did used to have random spotting before that. I did have a period every month but the date would change.

I've taken a couple of pregnancy tests before my period was due and one either the day I was due on or the day before/after (can't remember now) and it was clear negative.

I've still not come on, no cramping and all I've had is for the last few days, sporadic stringy very light brown goo when I wipe (literally less than half a 5p amount). So I took a test to be sure I'm not pregnant.

Is this a reliable negative because of the weird dot? I took it a few minutes ago and dipped as didn't have enough pee in me to do midstream, lol.

There was a faint line on the test in person (which did show on photos slightly but you can't see it now it's uploaded)

Just went to check the test and now there's a darker line where the original faint line was but I'm guessing it's an evap?

If you had unprotected sex on the 24th, and you somehow ovulated and conceived on the 28th/1st (latest you could have and still conceived), I would expect a positive test to show up a bit stronger by now, esp if your period was due five days ago. In theory though it could turn positive still.

Are you TTC or avoid it? If you're TTC I would get a big pack of easy@home cheapie pregnancy tests, for me they were actually more accurate than the boots ones, plus they're way cheaper and use way less plastic. If you're not TTC and are worried, I would wait a few days and do another test! In my experience you'd be having cramps if you were pregnant.

Good luck either way!

Thanks, no I'm hoping I'm not pregnant. It was my partner but more of an unplanned fit of passion than anything else
I keep seeing faint lines but hoping it's my imagination as they never seem to show up when I upload them on here. Fingers crossed af shows soon then!

Those are positive tests. They’re pretty light for 18 days post ovulation. It may be with the spotting that it’s a chemical. Would be worth going to the docs for HCG tests with 48 hours between to see what the levels are doing.

Although sperm can live for 5 days after sex so it may be a viable pregnancy. Only way you will know at this stage is through HCG as it’s too early for a scan.

I did have a chemical in 2023, so yeah have had the faint test that eventually turns negative thing.

I guess I'll wait for bleeding 🤷🏻‍♀️

So when would you test again and would you use fmu? I've got a standard clearblue (not digital, the one that says 5 days early or whatever on the pack) left over from the rest I did earlier today but unsure how long to leave it before using it up.

it depends how desperate you are to know. You can check line progression with FMU daily or every other day or go get an HCG test. It’s not a fun waiting game, whatever result you’re hoping for. Hope things go ok.

I got pregnant once when we weren't trying, and with the clearblue one you used I got a very strong positive a few after my period was due. If, at the outside, you ovulated two weeks ago, I would wait like another three days or so before doing another test, to be sure.

From actually trying later on, those clearblues are shite for when you're testing early, I got burned by lines when I wasn't actually pregnant. I will say I never got a false positive with the boots early ones. Maybe try a boots early test again in two or three days, and if the line is the same strength or lighter, it could indeed be a chemical.

Fingers crossed for you your period arrives soon and answers the question once and for all!

Thanks everyone. I'm bleeding fairly heavily now with pain so guessing either just a randomly late period or another chemical.
