Very uncomfortable ovulation pain

Every month i know when I am ovulating as I get mild period-like cramps midway through my cycle that lasts for about a week, plus other symptoms. This month the usual pain arrived but it was more intense to the point it made me feel a bit nauseous, kept me awake at night and I needed to take pain killers. That lasted a few days then eased off. I'm now in that window building up to AF day and hoping to have conceived. Has anyone else had particularly uncomfortable ovulation symptoms, more so than usual?

Yes! I usually get similar cramping but on occasion it's much more intense - feels like I'm being stabbed in my ovary and I can't do anything else but lie down!

Same as both of you have described here. I get intense pains at ovulation every month. Some months they're not so bad and last only couple days. Other months they're can be crippling and last for 10 days! The month I fell pregnant the ovulation cramps I had were average for me. Not the worst pains but also not the easiest!

Thank you @loopyb @jelliebean9, it's reassuring to know it's normal :) x

Since I had my MC last August I can absolutely tell every month when I ovulate because the pain is intense!! I struggled to stand up this month because it was a strong stabbing pain. Thankfully I had a scan after the MC so everything is fine with the ovaries and tubes but I think the hormone surge when I was pregnant must have just kicked off parts I had never felt before 😂 I always worry I’ll miss ovulation TTC but at least this is a sure fire way of knowing

I had an MC last year and I can honestly say that it is since then that the ovulation pain has been more obvious. I wonder if it is linked?! I never used to need to take pain relief pre loss, this month it was so uncomfortable.
