Pregnancy symptoms - negative test

Hi all,

wondered if anyone has ever found themselves in a similar situation to me. We started trying in December.

I am 5 days late on my period (usually come on early) and very hormonal, acne for the first time in years, feeling nauseous but having continual negative tests. Tried first response pink dye and clear blue. there’s not even a faint line, very obviously negative.

It’s so difficult not knowing for sure what’s going on. Has anyone else experienced this?

TIA.

Hi @MyPeppyLimeBear are you sure of when you ovulated? If you ovulated later that might explain the late period and you may still be in with a chance?

This happened to me fairly early on in my TTC journey, my period was randomly 4 days late. I hope it's not the case for you and you've just ovulated late hence the negative test 🤞🏼

I’m not 100% sure but I track my periods with Flo and it suggested I ovulated around the 14th February. It’s all very confusing - just so unlike me to have a late period. Guess it’s just a waiting game!

hi! I wouldnt trust Flo at all. They base their calculations on 14-day luteal phases and previous cycle lengths,

Cycle lengths can vary, and not every woman has a 14-day luteal phase after ovulation day either...

You might have ovulated later than Flo said, hence why the neg tests and 'late' period

I recommend tracking ovulation using ovulation strips. you'll be surprised how wrong those apps can be :)

Yeah I was just more concerned by the late period as I never usually get them. Although alas, another negative test today so safe to rule pregnancy out at this point I think. I’m a week late and not even a faint line

I agree, tracking helps know exactly where you are in your cycle - even if yours are always 28days, it doesn’t necessarily mean you ovulate right in the middle.

Are you taking any conception support vitamins? There are lots of reviews on some brands (eg pregnacare conception) that they mess with period timings

I'm in the same boat, except I took the ella one morning after pill, not knowing that If I was ovulating it wouldn't work, I've had spotting and tonight I threw up. I'm not sure when I ovulated but looking back there were signs it was around the same time as you, I've also done tests and all negative.
