Is this pregnancy test positive?

I took a pregnancy test yesterday afternoon on a clear blue ultra early which showed a very faint positive (almost a shadow) and the below pic is a retest from first thing this morning.

No idea exactly when I ovulated (I have PCOS, it’s hard to track) but if I could estimate it would probably be 14 days ago (give or take a day either side).

This result was within 3-5 minutes of taking the test. After doing the school run with my eldest I looked at it again and the line is much darker and more saturated with colour but I’m discounting any changes now because it’s out of the time window.

I swear I see something! Please indulge my crazy because my eyes can’t believe what I’m seeing. Do you see it too? We’ve been trying to conceive a second child for almost 2 years and I’ve never seen anything on a test before except for when I was actually pregnant. With my first pregnancy there was no disputing the test result, I was at least 16-17dpo when I tested and this is much fainter.

I can see a line! Retest again tomorrow to confirm it is a positive!

All the best!

2025babyfever · 06/03/2025 14:29

I see it

WeeOrcadian · 06/03/2025 14:52

I see something like a line but blue dye tests are shit

FMU - pink dye test - dip, don't pee onto it

jelliebean9 · 06/03/2025 19:04

Totally agree with the advice about pink dye tests and dipping. The more I see on here, the more I keep thinking clear blue should be banned 😂 this line doesn't look as skinny as an evap but it's super faint. I'm crossing everything a pink dye one gives a positive for you xx

For anyone interested, I picked up some Boots early result tests and repeated the test this morning. I’m cautiously optimistic. Going to wait until tomorrow or Sunday, then I’ll put on my big girl pants and do a digital.

Eeeek!! Early congratulations 😍 that def looks really good. Let us know about the digital when you do it xxx

I’m a weak willed woman and I just took the digital test 🙈, I needed to see it in black and white but was so afraid that I was reading something into these tests that wasn’t there!

Heres the result! 😍

Thank you for your help everyone, I’m going to step away from the tests now or risk driving myself insane. I’ll probably do another digital next weekend to see if it’s progressing. I remember last time when they got to 3+ weeks I was able to calm down a bit

Sorry I thought I had posted my previous post as a separate thread I did not mean to hijack your thread!! Congrats @Mama3029

Hey, I’m no expert but I can see a very faint line! Is it colourless or does it have any colour to it? Hard to tell from the picture as the image quality reduces when you upload 😭. That’s one of the main differences between a evap line and true positive though to the best of my knowledge.

Maybe try again in the morning with first morning urine, or even better if you can hold off until Sunday morning you’ll have a better idea what to make of it. You could also get hold of some first response tests? I don’t think there is a test around more sensitive.

Either way you’re super early so if you’re seeing anything at that dpo that’s pretty awesome! Best of luck to you either way xx

Thank you so much. Yes it's definitely pink. I shall test again Sunday with one of those digitals, if I can wait that long.🤣 Sorry again for hijacking your thread, clearly lost my mind in the surprise of seeing something, we've been trying ages too. Hope yours progresses well, exciting times 😁

Mama3029 · 07/03/2025 09:47

Can I ask do you have any symptoms of being pregnant or just thought you would test incase?

Mama3029 · 08/03/2025 15:52

Yes but I did the first time. Last time it was sore boobs and nothing else, then the nausea started around 6 weeks. This time I’m just exhausted, like next level tired and my boobs hurt again. My stomach is also super sensitive, I’m quick to feel a bit nauseous… almost threw up brushing my teeth this morning 🥲

Have you? X
