LH level low? - premom app

Hi looking for some advice/reassurance!

Last cycle I used the easy at home OPK and the premom app. It said the peak was CD18 which is normal ish for me, but the figure on the app was 0.93.. is this considered low and would it affect ovulation? The test line was darker than the control line and I thought that was a good sign..

I'm worried I have low progesterone and that's affecting the length of my luteal phase/ovulation as we've been TTC for 5 months (not the longest but still a little heartbreaking each month that goes by). I started BBT this month but understand it can take a couple of months of use to find trends etc

Have you checked that you have the app set up correctly for the brand of tests you’re using and also checked when uploading the photo that the lines match up? If the test line was darker than the control line then the Premom app would read it as 1.0+, so mine today recorded as 1.4 with test line darker than control for example. If the test is reading as 0.9 & all set up correctly then it may be the test line isn’t quite as dark

Here's a photo of my tests and the numbers, the line defo looks darker and the number is the highest I had all month but wasn't sure if 0.93 is considered low still as saw some people have over 1 like you mention

I'm loading these tests on the easy@home tab, I'm not sure what else I need to do to set it up (?!)

You can slide it to the left and edit it, to manually put the line differences in so the numbers are more reliable
I do this as I don't use the premom brand strips and the auto thing always puts the numbers super low.

I just tried this on last cycle's tests (the ones in the screenshot) and it only lets me change if it's peak, low or high and the numbers don't change. Is this what you mean? The darkest test line that cycle was picked up as my peak so think that's right?!

So when you slide right click the little pencil next to the numbers it should take you to the screen to edit the line strength

I'd say you've had your peak looking at your tests!

I don't know what's going on with me but these are my tests 😩

Oh thank you! I totally missed that first time. That has changed the number to above 1 and also changed the peak day to the day before! I might adjust them as I go as the numbers are definitely out

That was my last cycle and adjusting it has changed the number which is good as my main worry was the number was on the lower side (whether that matters or not idk!)

It looks darker on CD17/18, when do you normally see your peak?

Your tests look exactly like mine. My “peak” tests were never really ever high like others I’ve seen on here.

dreaming98 · 02/03/2025 22:15

@Lulu89x has this caused any issues for you? I think I'm overthinking as I know everyone is different but it's hard not too!

@dreaming98 I took my peak as CD 18 but then I expected my tests to get lighter which they did, but now they're getting darker! 🤯 This is the first month I've been using OPK sticks so I'm unsure. I fear I'm not ovulating!

This is only my second time using the easy @ home OPK so I'm not sure I'll be much help, but maybe DTD again if it gets any higher just to cover all basis! 🙈 you could try adjusting the levels too incase that changes the numbers, but I think I'm going to go off what the line looks like now instead of worrying too much about the numbers

I actually convinced myself I was infertile because of it. My body decided to ovulate four days early in November and here I am.. currently 18 weeks pregnant and fighting to stay awake every day! 😂

Let us know, is the colour of the line dark but the number is saying it's low?

These were mine the month I got pregnant so I wouldn't worry too much.

@Lulu89x congratulations! Hope everything is going well (tiredness aside!) That's really put me at ease as I've been thinking the same as you were.

Did you usually have a short luteal phase (apart from in November)? And if so did you do anything different to move it forward?

Thank you! Very much so. I usually ovulate around CD10! My cycle is usually around 25-29 days too. October my cycle was 21 days which is insane.

Yours look fairly similar to mine! I think as long as you’re seeing a peak and then the lines getting lighter again, it’s fine, I don’t think it has to reach a certain number as everyone’s different. Have seen some really dark lines on here but never been over 1 myself. If you’re doing BBT you should see your temperature really high the day after your peak ☺️ but with more testing you start to notice more patterns!

Thanks for sharing! There's so much to learn with OPK and this is my first month tracking BBT so not sure what to expect but will hopefully see an increase after my peak 🤞🏼

@Alkaline182 sorry a BBT question - I'm yet to see my peak on OPK for this month (predicting it to be this Thursday/Friday). But I've had a sharp increase in my temp this morning which I'm confused about as I thought it went up a lot only after ovulation.. here's my chart as of this morning. I did a OPK this morning just incase but it was low

Just including a pic of my chart for this month just so you can see it, not the best example in the world though! The temperature rise confirms ovulation has happened, but I would use that in conjunction with a positive ovulation test. Temperature may come down a bit and then shoot back up just after your positive test. I think temperature is dependent on things like whether you’ve drunk alcohol, had painkillers, how you slept etc so I’d look for more of a pattern rather than focusing on just one day ☺️

Oh also keep track of when you’re seeing EWCM too, that should be a good indicator of ovulation being imminent!
