CB rapid evap at 15 minute mark?

As title says. I checked at the five minutes mark. Nothing. Got delayed and checked again at 15. (Meant to be 10)

I know these are notorious for evaps and I've had many myself in the past but I didn't ever recall having one five mins over the time limit.

Only tested because I've had sore boobs for a week. Would usually avoid blue dye like the plague but local shops had one brand of test. I'm on mini pill but have missed some. Taken with afternoon wee

Looks like an evap, try not to read them after the recommended time.

Sarahbelle25 · 27/02/2025 22:49

If I remember correctly from when I had my two kids, a thin line is an evap, it would have to be the same thickness as the other lines to be a positive.

Hmmmm
I think do test with your morning sample
Looks possibly an early positive to me

Can I just say, I've done two of these tests recently due to a late period, not one of them gave even the slightest hint of a line- and I left both of them out all day because I'm a sucker like that 🤣

I say go get another test to be sure.

I hate late periods, im due mine soon and I don't feel like it's on its way yet, normally I'd have signs by now. Are the clear blue ones good?

lilyflower1803 · 28/02/2025 07:07

@Sarahbelle25 I have irregular periods so completely understand! Though I was tracking bbt and OPKs this month and really thought I ovulated so am confused why I haven't come on yet (CD 36!)

I have never had a problem with them, I know others have as mentioned above. I like first response but they give off a harsh evap lines even when read immediately now, I don't remember this happening before.

In my past pregnancy, the easiest to read were first response, clear blue and then I just used Superdrug/boots own and they are quite good too. FR are the most sensitive but you can get a CB early detection.

Pombears12 · 28/02/2025 09:04

Managed to grab a cheapy pink dye. Off brand one from the local corner shop. Not sure on the sensitivity but looks like the Asda brand ones so assuming 25mui. Tbhbi always thought the Asda ones were naff when I was pregnant with my son's. They took ages to show up compared to any other test. They were the worst for sensitivity imo. CB I would only trust if it was blaring tbh. I'm 99% sure mines an evap. An evap five minutes after the read time is crazy but hey ho.

@Sarahbelle25 I wouldn't buy clear blues if your wanting an accurate look. I would pick any pink dye test tbh. Back in my TTC days first response early response were the fold standard and I've never had an evap on those. Even now. But sometimes they do have abit of a colourless indent that can throw you off. Never had it years ago but the new ones do a d I know lots of people don't like them now but their still my gold standard (if your aware of the possible indent that is) their just bloody hard to find round my neck of the woods these days.

Boots are awful imo for colourless evaps and indents too even within the time frame. I know people like them but I've had bad experiences with them.

Home bargains/b&m cheapie strip ones have always been mostly accurate for me although their not super sensitive. They do do a 10mui but I've never tried that one as with my first and second a home bargains picked up something resembling an evap but in the time frame and so I'd rushed out both times and first reasons early responses were pretty clear albeit faint. Then proceeded to take about 100 tests as you do lol.

I would avoid clear blue at all costs tbh, along with any other blue brand. Their notorious for evaps as you can see from my photos. My pink dye cheapie looks negative from this morning which just once again re affirms for me that I should stay away from blue dyes. Particularly clear bloody blue ones unless it's a digi

@lilyflower1803 that's so interesting! Can't believe it came up like that just five minutes over the time.

Second test this morning shows a stark white negative so I guess it was an evap.

Looking like a negative tbh. Will probably get another in a few days because I'm a pee on a stick weirdo/veteran (our first took seven years of ttc and our second was an accident 5 months PP 🤣)
