Evap or line?

I took a pregnancy test yesterday which I thought was negative after 5-6 minutes so I binned it. Checked it again today and it’s got a coloured line, I know you shouldn’t check after the timeframe and the advice will just be to take another test - which I will.

But just wondered what everyone’s thoughts are aside from that? If it were a blue dye I’d disregard it completely, but I’ve never had a coloured evap on a pink dye before.

It was very hard to get a picture that accurately shows it because it’s faint, but it’s definitely a bit pink and not grey

I’d definitely take another test today or tomorrow.

id say it’s most likely an evap but you never no xx

I agree, most likely an evap. I've done that before with Boots own tests, read it as negative and then left it on the side. Seen it again hours later and then tried to convince myself I saw something. It's so hard to keep waiting, but definitely re test in a couple days to be sure!

I did another one after this (different brand) that also came up with a line about 40 minutes after the timeframe. Would it be an evap across 3 different brand tests? Or should I just assume yes since nothing is appearing in the timeframe?

In my experience if mine were negative (had a lot!) they stayed that way , how early are you testing ? As my positive looked the same as this I tested pretty early and it got stronger as the days went on so definitely test again in the next few days or buy an early test :)

Lafoosa · 27/02/2025 17:56

@hol92 I’ve genuinely got no clue, it’s definitely very very early though maybe about 9dpo, so way too early to test I know. I’ve been feeling sick and my boobs have been so sore, then I’ve had the same pregnancy dream I had before all of my other pregnancies

How did you get on? @Lafoosa :)

Lafoosa · 19/03/2025 07:03

@hol92
was definitely positive, had these 2 days before af was due. Feeling SO sick already, didn’t have that with any of my other pregnancies this

I’m very confused about dates though, my app says I’m 4 weeks, but there’s no way any other test would’ve showed any positives before now if that were the case
