Tracking ovulation Q

Hi. This is my first cycle ever trying to track my ovulation. I’ve been using the cheap easy@home OPKs then scanning them on the app - levels very low and then peaked at CD14 then dropped down again - so all seems pretty regular? I know LH surge isn’t confirmed ovulation so just wondering how accurate people were finding it who also track BBT?

Suppose I’m wondering if I’m going to do this should I do it properly and track BBT as well?but i also could see it becoming too much (and don’t think my sleep is quite regular enough with a 2 yr old)

BBT normally the only thing that can confirm ovulation. If you don’t want to do it I’d just say carry on having sex 2-3 days after your peak.

I do BBT and tests and find my ovulation is confirmed normally the day after or in some cases 2 days after I get my peak but everyone’s body will be different & I think some people can have a rise in LH and show peak on tests but not ovulate then they’ll have a 2nd rise and ovulate.

So id say either keep testing to make sure or DTD every other day to make sure, if you don’t wanna BBT

Good Luck 🥰

If you're not getting good sleep then BBT is useless to you. However, I found the easy at home strips perfect and got pregnant on three of four attempted cycles.

Sorry to jump on this thread but just noticed this comment and I'm really curious to know why bad sleep impacts BBT?

I've only just started tracking my BBT but my chart doesn't look like I'd expect and is up and down every day! My 5 year old still wakes up every night so definitely not getting good sleep!

It's because when you wake up and even more so when you then move your temperature goes up. So if you are up and down in the night or even just waking lots it will throw your temp readings out.

Thanks so much for your response. That makes sense!
