Timing of Day 21 blood test

The ACU decided to have my Day 21 blood test on day 28 as I sometimes have a longish cycle (although not that long so I was a bit at the time). So, of course AF shows up on day 29.

Does anyone know if this would still show the correct level of progesterone ?

I don't want to (finally) get to see the consultant for me to be told that test wasn't valid and I have to wait another 3 months to go back !!

I will ring and ask the ACU but just wondered if anyone had any idea whilst I fret about it over the w/e !

Thanks.

Thanks Lottie - that was my feeling too ! Arse !

Ok, I think when I have had my HSG done and I ring them to hassle for an earlier consultant appointment I will ask them - I kind of hope they might be able to access the result and let me know (or is that too logical ?! ).

I'd say that your prog level would certainly be on the way down by then - it will be interesting to see what your result is. It may be possible to see that you did ovulate, but I would certainly want the test redone - how about you ask to have your bloods taken a few times between ov and menstruation, that way if you don't hit the right day spot on, it may still be possible to see the level rise to signify ovulation.

Good luck.

Thanks Ready.

I have had day 21 test done twice through my GP which were fine but as these were last year the hospital wanted to rerun it... sigh... Am pretty sure I do OV and can pinpoint almost exactly when it happens (not that that helps me !) so really I should just go 7 days after I think I have OV.

Will call them after HSG and ask.

Thanks for your help gals !
