False positive? Boots test after 10mins

Not sure what I’m expecting from this thread as really I won’t know until I take another test which I will do tomorrow.

I took a boots test this morning and put it down after I saw the control line vaguely appear (30s or so later). With a hectic morning (toddler and running late) I never went back upstairs to read it. DH came home at lunch and saw it looked like this (photo).
Only when I got home did I realise it says you must discount any result after 10mins. Does this mean it’s a false positive or an evap line?

I did a clear blue this evening but the control line never appeared so hasn’t helped at all. Feeling a bit down after the high this afternoon.

That looks like a solid line though 🤔 what dpo are you?

Be careful! Boots tests are notorious for Oscar winning fake bfps. If it came up after the time I'd keep testing.

I’ve had about the same but I’m only like 7dpo , so guessing an indent. It can be so stressful testing! X

Thank you. I’m 15dpo but that’s just according to my app and I’ve been pretty regular. I’ve bought some ovulation tests as we have been trying for 5months but too late to use this month (I thought).

@Keepstepp123 I think that’s why I created the post as when I searched on google there were so many stories like this. I think I was just hoping they were wrong and even though it had been about 4hours, this test might be right.
unfortunately the only test I have in the house is also a boots one!!…bloody multipack!

This has happened to me and as days passed the line became more pronounced!
You could pregnant but still very early days.
Hormone is stronger in first wee if the day so possible later test in day is inconclusive!

Fingers crossed for you. We are trying for our second so I know we are extremely blessed to already have one child. I was lucky last time as I got pregnant after one month but it definitely lulled me into a false sense of hope it would happen just as quick.

Do it now, you don't have to wait for FMU at 15 DPO
That test is a clear positive but appreciate that you can't be sure unless you check in the time frame.

Looks positive to me! I’ve never had an issue with false positives with boots brand

I spent years trying to get pregnant and think it's best to wait until your period is due rather than days after ovulation... I did eventually get pregnant and now my beautiful boy is 11!
I had a very faint line originally after 20 minutes which got clearer and stronger day by day!! X

Thank you for all the support the past 24 hours. Safe to say I’ve take quite a few tests today and I think it’s looking positive.

I’ve never used a test like that so not sure where the line should be to look. I know it’s hard but honestly my only advice it to wait until you’re due (though I say that as someone who is regular with their cycle). A couple of months ago I was testing early and getting stressed so decide to just take the pressure and ban any tests until I was due.
