Sex on the day of ovulation

I'm ovulating right now.

But DP has been away this week, so we've not been able to have sex, and is due back tonight. Could I still be in with a chance or is it too late?

I know the egg is supposed to survive around 12 hours but there's not much info, or consistent info, about how long it takes for sperm to reach the fallopian tubes.

I'm 39 so every month counts!

I panicked before as I had a pos ovulation test and didn’t have sex until 17 hours after and after researching I found out that you ovulate around 12-36 hours after the lh surge. So if your ovulation test is pos it’s just the surge that’s happened, not yet ovulation
so you’re in with a chance and the egg also survives around 12 hours I think

No harm in trying, but as I’m sure you know it might be a little too late.

@Bridgeu definitely ovulating now as I had my peak 24hrs ago and now I have ovulation pains.
