Those who had low/slow betas, what happened at your first ultrasound?

My betas started low (59 - IVF pregnancy) but doubled appropriately. Because it started so low I expected to see something off by my first ultrasound and I was right. The baby is measuring 6+1 instead of 6+4 and the gestational sack is very small. Heartbeat of 122 though.

Obviously this is alarming and I’m preparing for the worst, but part of me also wonders - isn’t it expected to have things be a little behind if your hCG started on the lower end since the embryo started off “behind” to begin with? I’m hoping things will catch up by 7, 8, and 9 weeks, etc. but wanted to ask if I’m the minority on having a bad first ultrasound with low starting betas.

Thanks!
