Had what I thought was Norovirus but period late

(Totally aware you can't really know if I am pregnant, but just wanted somewhere to write it down and hear other people's symptoms, I will be going to get a test when the shops open)

I have a 2.5 year old but feel like I've forgotten all of my symptoms from then 😅

My period is two days late and I do feel like AF is coming but I've been feeling like that for a few days now and nothing has arrived. (I do seem to remember feeling like this when I was pregnant last time)

I was really ill on Sunday, the day my period was due. With what I thought was Norovirus. But as my period never arrived I took a test (sainsburys) which came back negative but wasn't with FMU.

Since then I'm still off food, feeling nauseous, boobs feel massive, ongoing cramping pains, bright yellow urine)

I'm going to go out and get a FRER today to put my mind at rest but if I get another negative I'm just so confused as to why I am late.

Could a sickness bug have effected my period coming? Was it even a sickness bug (didn't think sickness and bad belly were early symptoms, especially this early)

Has anyone else been really sick/ bad belly and turned out to have a BFN?

You’ve literally just started another thread on this

Amyc94 · 11/02/2025 08:46

@Bestthriller I changed it to change the title so it didn't seem I was directly asking people if I was pregnant, which I am totally aware is not possible.

I really don't know why you need to reply again? I clearly said I will be going to get a test and just wanted to hear other people's experiences on the sickness.

@PotaytoPotahhto wow what a wonderful, supportive bunch of people..

There is no harm in me simply asking people for their experiences, like so many other women do.

You don't have to comment if you don't have anything of value to say to me.

@Bestthriller if I didn't have my toddler to sort and a dog to get out first thing then maybe I would have yes.

Thanks for that.

You can be off your food for a week or two after norovirus and it could've definitely delayed your period too

TellmethestoryofO · 11/02/2025 09:42

This was me, had a stomach bug and my period was late so thought it was just down to that - it wasn't, the culprit is now four years old!

RubyRedBow · 11/02/2025 09:44

It could be the sickness.
I wouldn’t really think anything of my period only being two days late when you have been unwell.

@Amyc94 Hi OP, no experience of this sorry but let us know what the test says, be interesting to see if you do get a BFP 🤞🏼
