Hello all!!!
Was just wondering if someone could give me a glimmer of hope with some success stories 😊
As the title says I'm 45 years old and ttc...everything I have read on google seems so bleak and pretty much tells me it's hopeless 😩
I have not had any signs that menopause is round the corner and still have regular periods that have never changed.
I also get ovulation pains every month(which I have done for many years) but I'm aware this is not an indication that my eggs are viable.
So any words of hope will be so greatly appreciated 😊 thank you so much for taking the time to read my post 😊❤️

Do you have any other children already?

Kels21 · 10/02/2025 18:08

Hey 🥰 have you been to the doctors about some bloods etc make sure all is good…. I don’t see why not tbh! I’ve seen lots of women writing on here that they’ve fallen pregnant in their 40s just fine 🥰 good luck with it all 🤍

Thank you so much so nice to hear some positivity! Yes I was thinking about having blood tests but I think I'm putting it off because I'm scared of getting news that I don't want to hear 🥺 sounds silly I know...it would be my partners and myselfs first baby together it's something we both desperately want...I'm blessed to have children from prior relationship youngest being 10....thank you so much ❤️

I think it's more common than people think. My aunty had her last baby at 48. Fertility is quite individual. People usually talk about percentages etc but one persons fertility at any age can be vastly different from another's. I know people in their late 20s who had IVF. I conceived a surprise baby when I was 38 and my dp was 50 - it was one solitary shag in the month because we were both busy with work and didn't see each other much. But I'm sure a doctor would have said our chances were quite limited.

Solitary shag 😭🤣

it’s true. Everyone’s body is different.

I only started my period aged 15. Some women start as young as 9. So mang different variables.

OP - my mother was born when my grandma was in her mid 40s so it’s possible!

I had a baby last year at 44. Don't give up! Read "it starts with the egg". Lots of useful tips to make sure your aging eggs are still viable. Worked for me!

I conceived and gave birth to second DC aged 45, it was a long time if trying for no. 2 (8 yrs) but it did happen in the end and pregnancy was quite straightforward. Think my mother had lateish menopause.

Thank you hun...this is the sort of stuff I really need to hear...I need to stay off google and convincing myself that there is no hope for me at all....I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I fall into the small category of being fertile or at least half fertile at my age...thank you again x

I'm in the same boat. I did fall pregnant last year but it sadly ended in an MC. I had a chemical pregnancy a couple of months after. Still trying though. I have two children ages 13 and 8 from my previous marriage but i remarried 3 years ago and we'd love to add to our family. Good luck to you. Stay positive, i am!! xx
