Is this a chemical?

Hi everyone, freaking out. The first 4 tests are days 10,11,12,13DPO. When I did the 13DPO it was evening and my urine was VERY dark (clearly dehydrated) I tested again this morning at 15DPO and my urine was almost clear and the test is obviously lighter.

does urine colour really effect the test or is that a myth? Am I having a chemical? 😓 thank you xx

Urine diluteness definitely impacts the test. Keep testing and if it keeps getting lighter then worry about a chemical, but one slightly lighter test doesn't indicate anything.

I know it's so much easier to say and I'd probably spend the whole day obsessing, but all you can do is wait and see. I'd ignore this test as it's dilute urine though.

@Thomsonetthompson thank you. I did notice my symptoms weren’t as strong so I’m really not feeling hopeful. I’ll keep an eye, appreciate your support xxxx had an mmc last year so this is hitting a little harder x

I think your tests look great
I recommend taking a digital, seeing the words and then stop testing. You will only drive yourself mad
congratulations!!

Olika · 09/02/2025 09:02

With kindness I think it's better you stop testing. Just do a digital one so that you see it says pregnant and then that's it. The darkness/lightness of the lines is very much impacted by how diluted your pee is. And is not indication for whether the pregnancy is going to be ok. All you can do is keep taking right vitamins, eat healthy and hope for the best. Good luck!

@Cosycardiganandteaandtoast thank you, you are so so right. I just have no trust in my body after 6 years ttc and 3 failed round of ivf 🤣🥲 at 37 it’s just decided to start working. What a rollercoaster, stepping away from the tests xx

These all look fine congratulations!

I decided not to test before my period was due when I was ttc and if it's any comfort, your latest test would count as a lovely strong positive in mine and my mum friend's experience of how they look in the morning a day or 2 after a missed period.
the very best if luck OP.

Elmo2025 · 09/02/2025 09:16

Thank you @TheLurpackYears that’s very kind and reassuring. My period is due today so that gives me a little hope. I’m just so desperate to one day have a baby it’s so all consuming x

Stop testing. As other poster has said at this point you can't quantify HCG with the pee sticks. All you can do is wait and see, looking at lines will just add unnecessary stress in a situation out of your control. You are pregnant right now and that's all that matters right now.
