Hi everyone,

please help..

I am4 days late for my period. I have PCOS but my cycles are regular. 33-36 days am currently day 40. Had a scan late December to check and it hadn’t got worse. I did however take agnus castus the first two weeks of my cycle in an attempt to shorten it. As it has got slightly longer only to be late. I Took a Sainsbury’s pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. But have had watery CM so by off chance did an ovulation test and this is positive.

has any one else experienced this?

I think your ovulation got delayed because of the agnus castus. I am taking it too and my periods came a week late.

@Olika thank you! Is this your first cycle taking agnus castus? I took it last month also but didn’t seem to have much effect last month

I think it might take some time to kick in and influence cycle. I started taking it during my periods and my following cycle was late by 6 days. Then after that I returned to my normal 30.

Hi OP, fellow PCOS girl over here. I think you ovulated later than planned, I have v regular
Cycles too (31/33 days) and one month I randomly ovulated on CD27 ..!
My gynecologist said there's no late period, only delayed ovulation. So that could be that random one off for you !

I have PCOS had two kids naturally - a fab book to follow is the natural guide to PCOS. I did a low GI diet and lived in the gym. Mainly as I was getting married so needed to get into shape.

We are trying for our third baby now and Ive not had a period in two months and all tests negative. Had non stop painful boobs but it's just a issue with PCOS we get weird symptoms each month that look like pregnancy ones.

I was told by a specialist Dr to not use ovulation trackers as not accurate for PCOS people. The website above says the same thing. Go by ovulation discharge instead this is how I had my two kids. When I was trying for a year then stopped. Those ovulation sticks always said I was positive but had 3 periods in 12 months so clearly wasn't even ovulating when they said they would be.

Both my kids I didn't show as positive on tests until 4 days after my period was missed. So keep testing until it shows up or it's been way too long for it to now show up.

Any questions ask as having PCOS sucks and I had to research so much stuff myself.

@Lila34830 aw thank you so much I was so concerned as I have never ovulated this late before it’s so difficult to track I’ve been waiting for my period to start lol

@Littleonek this is so useful thank you! I have already started to follow a lowGI diet also and I know I need to get in the gym so hopefully that will help.. have been trying for 2 years now and no luck as yet.. also wasn’t DDD as much as should did cycle, well we did but around the time the app said I would ovulate will stop using now as like you said they are useless for us PCOS girlies

I'm also on the vitamins B12 which are meant to help women with PCOS with energy and hormone in balance. Not sure if it works but it's cheap to try. The book I read talked a lot about it.

There are so many of these buy these vitamins to conceive etc I think try and avoid these cons and focus on vitamins you can just buy in the shops yourself.

For me weight loss was key I lost a stone after my diagnosis - for my wedding not for baby making. And in 6 months my hormone levels were normal did blood tests..before testosterone for me was 12 times higher than it should be. I definitely think diet and exercise helped me with PCOS before I had kids. I need to go back onto my strict diet and exercise but I'm too lazy now.
