@whatdoyouthink123456 cycle 12 trying for #2 getting quite fed up and feel like its never going to happen

SWeal · 10/02/2025 20:22

@whatdoyouthink123456 thank you for continuing the thread 💕 How are you today?

AF arrived yesterday, was 2 days late which is so unlike me, definitely thought I was pregnant so really struggling when af showed 😢

@FinallyPregnant2022 Sorry you’re in this position. I’m feeling like i’m losing hope today too but I know the feeling will pass. Have you been to your GP now it’s been 12m?

FinallyPregnant2022 · 10/02/2025 20:34

@SWeal hi yes - we are both over 35 so went to the GP after 6 months my husband's morphology was 3%
It was low first time round but we managed to conceive naturally after 19 long months.
This time I have been patient as I knew it wouldn't happen straight away but am becoming quite agitated as we are now a few years older, mum friends from first time round are popping babies out left right and center and I'd really like #1 to have a sibling.
For me this time round I just don't know how long to wait before going for IVF.

SWeal · 10/02/2025 22:15

@FinallyPregnant2022 It’s so consuming isn’t it. And soul destroying seeing people fall pregnant seemingly so easily, i’ve had 4 friends fall and have their babies in the time i’ve been trying, it’s so difficult. I’m considering IVF to be honest, we’d have to pay as we have a son, so it’s just trying to figure out how that would work financially. Plus I know IVF is a difficult journey too, so it’s taking the leap into that aswell. The age gap is now getting bigger and bigger and it makes me so sad 😞

FinallyPregnant2022 · 11/02/2025 14:30

@SWeal how long have you been trying for if you don't mind me asking?
For me its the uncertainty and unknown - so frustrating!

SWeal · 11/02/2025 20:11

@FinallyPregnant2022 Coming up to 18 months now, I had an ectopic in Sept last year which ruptured and meant I lost my left tube. I know, it’s so frustrating. Feel like I see a new pregnancy announcement every day, I really need to come off social media for a while 😣

Fairy0708 · 12/02/2025 16:48

Hey all

I've been TTC number 2 for 18 months. Had all the usual tests (bloods, amh, hycosy, sper and everything seems ok. Just started it first round of letrozole. On a waiting list for laproscopy as my first was born via c section (although I don't have a crystal ball I doubt very much it's the c section that is causing issues but who knows).

SomethingbutWhat · 12/02/2025 16:56

We have just reached the 4 year mark. Saving for IVF now. We’ve been told it’s ’unexplained Infertility’ which is what happened with Ds as it took me 5.5 years to get pregnant with him.

SWeal · 12/02/2025 20:19

@Fairy0708 Hey, sorry you’re in this position 😞 I’ve had 2 c sections and have been wondering recently if I could have problems because of those. I’m just waiting on a hycosy to check my remaining tube. Have they given you any more information about what could happen after a c-section to cause infertility? I’m guessing it’s something to do with scare tissue? x

Isthmocele . I had to have surgery to repair mine as was caused by my emergency c section with ds. It causes a defect on the scar that fills with fluid/blood and can stop implantation it can also cause c section ectopic

Thanks for your reply! Did you have any symptoms with this?

I think it was more the case that the only thing that has changed in the time between getting pregnant with my son (no issues getting pregnant) and now is the c section, so a just in case type thing?

I had a hycosy - I hope it goes ok for you!

SWeal · 12/02/2025 21:19

@Fairy0708 Ahh ok, thank you! That’s sort of the same in my case, my first was a surprise and my 2nd we fell first time trying. It was then 12m before I fell again but was ectopic. Except now obviously I have 1 tube, so things just got even harder 😞 Thank you, I haven’t got a date yet but hoping it’s soon! x

None at all it was just picked up on ultrasound scans and I was told it may be affecting implantation so I had it repaired via hysteroscopy. Haven’t managed to get pregnant after the repair but now hoping it means that my uterus will be ok for when we have ivf
