So done with this now my partner is 46 soon to be 46 and I'm 32. W have been TTC for 18 months now with no luck at all I was tracking my cycles which have been regular and know exactly when ovulate due to positive tests and ovulation pain. I'm just so down over it, I have 2 children from a previous relationship but really want a baby with the Iove of my life. Why is life so cruel 😢

I’m sorry you are going through this. The NHS can do semen analysis and also test your hormones. It’s far more likely it’s him with the issue but to be safe, maybe you could get tested too.

One thing I’d say is that if all those results for you and him come back normal but you’ve still not conceived; go private for testing. If you go privately then they’ll give you a diagnostic scan and they’ll give you an AMH blood test to check ovarian reserve. The NHS don’t do these tests unless you’re already having ivf with them (which sadly you won’t qualify for as you already have children).

So both ask your GPs for a fertility test to see what’s up and go from there. I hope you get the answers you need.

No advice but in the same boat here.
ttc 18 months plus- no issues been found so unexplained.
my first took 3 years with unexplained so I am just assuming I’m someone that takes longer to conceive
I hope it this year for us 🤞🏻

It's probably due to his declining fertility. He's not old, but he is old to have a baby as sperm quality really declines in quality.
