Natural cycles changed ovulation day

Hi so my first month using nc. Going by my strip testing I had my peak on CD15 and tests negative from the evening of cd16. I personally think I ovulated CD16/17. Natural cycles this morning is saying ovulation was Cd19!!
But I’m worried now as if it was I don’t think I done enough. Could it be wrong?? does it take that app a few months to be completely accurate

I used to use natural cycles and found that there was quite a bit of room for user error, do you use a thermometer or a watch/ring? Do you take your temp the minute you wake up before you get out of bed and do you have a normal unbroken nights sleep every night? These sorts of things can make readings fluctuate and become unreliable.

@Lemoncello823 I’ve used natural cycles since 2018 and they have my ovulation and period down to the day (it’s scary how accurate they’ve got it 😂)
that being said it’s your first month and I think you’ll need a few months for the algorithm to start understanding your body/temps.
I also agree with girlfolk if you’ve got up at night, or timings have been slightly off it can mess up your temp and that might be why it’s changed it.
have you got photos of your LH? Or pictures of your chart?

Lemoncello823 · 03/02/2025 16:55

That’s my charts there.
I do measure as soon as wake sometimes I would be wakened during the night with my toddler. I think on CD17 that dip was taken at 6am but think I was in with her at 4am. Hard to remember.

@Lemoncello823 well you defo caught peak on CD15. I think it confirmed on the CD19 cause you dipped then went over baseline the next day which would suggest ovulation. Although it did go slightly over on CD18 but you tend to see 3 days of increase in temp post ovulation which I think is why they might of put it as CD19.

either way you’ve defo caught it with dtd!

I know how hard it is with a toddler as well! 2 nights of being up and down I didn’t take my temp cause of being up so close to my normal wake up time.

I’ve tried to post my graph for you to see but won’t let me post a photo for some reason 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks so much for your reply. Will probably take a few months before it picks up my data properly and for me to get the hang of it. If I cancel out that temp (the big dip) it makes that my ovulation day so it’s obviously very sensitive to data.

No worries 🥰 hope it helps! But yeah you’re totally right with the data and being sensitive. I’ve learnt it’s best to just put ‘slept differently’ or not include my temp if I’ve been up and down throughout the night or I’ve got up without remembering to take it.

good luck with this month 🤍
