0% morphology, advice on IVF?

Hi,

We've been TTCing, had a chemical and a miscarriage in the space of 11 months. My husbands SA just came back as 0% morphology, in June it was 2%. His sperm count increased from 10 mil in June to 30 mil now. But obviously morphology is 0% and has decreased. I don't know how uts decreased, we've been doing everything right. No drink, exercise often, eats well, loose boxers, multivitamins, no baths...

Anyway, it is what it is. He does have a varicocele, so we are thinking of having that removed, but it'll cost 5k+ privately. We've booked DNA fragmentation for 3 weeks time. We're already on the IVF waiting list, can you even have ICSI or IVF with 0% morphology?? Has anyone had it and has success stories? How is it possible?

Do I book to see a private urologist consultant?

As you can probably tell, my heads all over the place. We've had these results with no support. IVF haven't technically picked us up yet, fertility consultant discharged us when they referred us to IVF, so we're stuck in limbo with these results.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I would fix the varicocele first. Ignore anything that is suggested until that is done and he's had at least 3 months for sperm to go through a production cycle. Would also delay the dna fragmentation until after that, as it would end up a waste of money until then.

Thinking of you. My partner has 3% with another SA in April and he’s been taking impryl, eating healthier etc. I’ve seen lots of positives about impryl so might be worth looking into. Sending you hugs xx

Thanks both. We've ordered impryl, that'll arrive soon. Stopping the other supplements. We're still going to go ahead with the DNA fragmentation, even if we book another one post varicocele. I think we'd just like to get some answers. We've also booked a private consultation with a urologist consultant! I appreciate the advice

I thought I'd jump on this as my husband's morphology has been a similar story. First was 2%, then he did all the correct things yours did and it somehow went down to 0% too! Our final one a couple of months ago was 1.5% but we had ICSI yesterday and were told this morning that 15/16 eggs fertilised. I know it doesn't mean anything in the long run but in terms of what you're worrying about they were able to find 15 decent swimmers in there somewhere 😁 best of luck to you xx
