Short follicular phase

Hi all, does anybody have any knowledge/ success in terms of how to increase the follicular phase?

Im currently getting my LH peak on day 9-11, so I think ovulating on day 12 at the latest, but usually day 10-11.

My LH peaks is still usually low (not technically a positive test), but notably higher than the rest of the month.

I had my progesterone checked on day 21 a while ago, which did confirm ovulation, but I am still concerned with how early I appear to be ovulating, as I’ve read various articles that suggest it is much harder to get pregnant and the chances of having a viable pregnancy are lower.

I am already taking conceive plus ovulation support. Has anybody else experienced this and found a way to increase the length of the first part of their cycle? My luetal phase is actually slightly longer than average (usually at least 16 days), so my overall cycle lengths is generally 28-30 days.

I can't give any advice on how to increase the length of your follicular phase however my cycles are very short in general (25-29 days).

I usually ovulate CD 11/12 but it can be as early as CD10

I made one mistake in November and I am currently 14 weeks pregnant.

Thank you, that gives me a bit of hope.

Honestly I had convinced myself I was infertile. Very short cycles in general, very light periods that used to last 6 days however I was very regular. As long as you are regular, I wouldn’t worry too much. Good luck!

My cycle is always 25 days and I ovulate around day 12. I was worried mine was too short, but I got a positive test this week after 4 months of trying.

Bumping this thread as I also have short follicular phase too… usually ovulate day 9. I just read about “seed cycling”. Might give it a try (TTC 3+ years so willing to try anything at this point!)

Aprilsunnyday · 14/05/2025 14:13

Interesting to see this thread. Mine as well, very short follicular phase, usually ovulation on Day 9, I am trying for my No.2 at 43 yo...my dc was conceived on day 9 actually.
I am in or very close to peri-menopause according to bloods in previous months, so not much chance I reckon. Started to take Coq10 again and willing to try other things. @TayceOnToast three years is not short, hope seed cycling will work for you!!
Anyone else has any ways to cope, would be very happy to hear!

I lengthened mine from about 11 to 13 days - supplements and lifestyle so hard to know exactly what helped! Maca definitely made a difference and added a few days on.
Plus generally for hormones getting enough sleep, balanced diet (we cut out UPFs, cook mostly from scratch), light exercise etc.

EmberR · 14/05/2025 15:45

@Aprilsunnyday I am in exactly the same situation as you! 43 and trying for DC2. I ovulate early and had all the blood tests and nothing technically abnormal showing up, but at the same time no positive tests yet… hard isn’t it, don’t want to give up

Aprilsunnyday · 14/05/2025 21:40

Oh wow, High five on being in the same situation and both not giving up yet!!!

No positives is hard but it's acceptable and I am grateful to have one at this point.
If can fall pregnant and have a good sticking bean it would be amazing though.

Wishing everyone good luck on this thread!!

Thanks this is encouraging to read. We have already drastically cut down on UPF and exposure to plastics/toxins etc. I’ve got some Macca root pills in the cupboard from a friend but I’m already on so many supplements (as recommended by It Starts With the Egg) that I’m worried about taking too many and the important ones not getting absorbed…I don’t know if that’s a logical thought or not. After reading your comment though maybe I will add it in. X

I totally get that, I read the same and am taking a whole handful of tablets which is a lot!
