Ovulation pain before or during ovulation?

Hi all,

Hubby and I are currently ttc baby number 1 after chemical.

I get ovulation pain every month and was wondering if anyone has any idea how soon after the pains ovulation typically occurs? I always assumed the pain meant that I was ovulating at that moment but then I heard that actually it could be after? Just curious as I’ve always had it but don’t actually know much about it. This month I had a peak on LH strip in the morning followed by ovulation pain about 12 hours later.

thanks!

I don't think there's a correct answer really. Some experts say the pain is before the egg released due to the follicle growing, some say it's as the egg is being released from the ovary.

I'd love to have a camera placed in my body for a month to see exactly what it's going on 😂

I have this issue. I had a week of pain constantly cramping. Then my ovulation discharge for a week then it stopped. So I would say you get the pain before ovulation. I've had non stop cramps for a week since my ovulation stopped. Waiting on my period this week.
