Pregnancy test line progression

I tested a faint positive on Tuesday with a few different branded pregnancy tests and confirmed pregnant 1-2 weeks on a clear blue.

I have tested again over recent days and I don't feel like my lines are going darker, nor fainter.

My LMP 24/12/24 and usually a 30 day cycle. I ovulated on 9th/10th according to opk tests. So I'm either 14-15dpo.

Does this likely mean I am having a chemical pregnancy? Or is it nothing to be concerned about. I'd rather be able to mentally prepare myself.

Or maybe I should just stop testing.. I find it all confusing.

I've been having some shoulder pain although I don't know if that's chronic, but it's usually on pain on certain movements. This is there dull ache and throbbing a bit now.

What sensitivity are those tests? I've not seen them before, but those look fine if they're 20-25miu tests (and even the sensitive cheap ones often come out a lot paler than FRERs etc). Can you get any Boots early tests?

Bopdabop · 24/01/2025 10:43

They were 10miu I think. I did do one that was 25miu and it was positive, maybe a bit darker then these.

Sorry, have just seen the second batch are Clear & Simple. Were they all taken with FMU?

KittyFantastica · 24/01/2025 11:38

Hi @Bopdabop I think I'd give EPU a ring if the shoulder pain persists, regardless of the strength of the test lines. I've not used those brands, so not sure how they 'should' look at this stage, sorry x

Bopdabop · 24/01/2025 11:38

Not all of them, the last one this morning was.

I end up weeing several times throughout the night as it is so never know which one to trust 🤣

I'm just not sure whether it's my normal shoulder pain or not and whether it's been aggravated. No other symptoms

I'm on the exact same days as you and although they are different brands, mine look really similar! I read somewhere that it's not that helpful to do them every day and that every other day you are more likely to see an increase and even then it can be a start slow. I haven't really taken that advice haha, however it is reassuring. I think it's fine! My view is that if I'm not bleeding it's all fine for now. Congrats!

Thank you and congratulations to you as well.

I'm just rather nervous- mainly because of all my other health conditions. X

I can't really comment as not familiar with these tests, but def positive so congrats! Try not to test every day if you can, it will only create more stress for you! Keep an eye on the shoulder pain, but when I was concerned about an ectopic I was told you would know if it was related because it's not like any other pain you tend to experience as it's right on the tip of your shoulder.

MocktailMe · 24/01/2025 14:22

If you have shoulder pain you need to contact EPU as that can be a sign of ectopic pregnancy x

Nellyelephanty · 24/01/2025 14:23

absolutely stop testing.

tests are yes/ no. Are you pregnant or are you not. There’s no progression - it doesn’t work like that

curliegirlie · 24/01/2025 16:41

@Nellyelephanty there absolutely is such thing as progression - and lack of progression can indicate CPs etc - BUT it's also dependent on so many different factors (how dilute the urine is, initial level of HCG which can vary wildly) that faint tests aren't necessarily a reason to panic until you're a good few days past AF date. I think with DD1 even the cheapies had equalled the control line by 19dpo. But my cheapies had still been very faint at 13dpo.
