Cyclogest when progesterone seemed fine

Hello! Random one.

I'm 4 weeks pregnant and I have been prescribed cyclogest to take for 4 weeks as I had a very early miscarriage last year. I am confused because I had my progesterone checked and they said it was great, so I am assuming they have given me this for good measure? I just wanted to check, can it be harmful to take if my progesterone is already okay? I am just following their orders but found it stage!

Thanks everyone x

Progesterone might be fine right now, but it could dip during pregnancy leading to miscarriage. I had it in my last pregnancy following a miscarriage. It’s not a bad thing.

I was given it too after 1 chemical & 2 MMC even though my levels were fine. I don’t think it can cause any harm and it’s better to be safe. My little boy is 2 now :) I’ll never know if the progesterone was actually needed.

Hello, its very rare that you have too much progesterone, the cyclogest are usually harmless. I take them from 3 days post ovulation during my 2ww because I have short luteal phase. If you're concerned call the EPU up and ask for some advice! But I'd say they're absolutely fine. Congratulations! X
