Right, not going to test until AF due, not going to obsess over sore boobs, not going to think about baby names, not going to give up alcohol. Anyone want to join me in pretending to not obsess about symptoms/lack of?

taking Evening primrose oil everyday upto Ovulation..

yellowflowers · 14/05/2008 11:31

What does evening primrose oil do?

tousletop · 14/05/2008 11:53

Oh can I add I read about a high dairy fat diet to help conception on another thread, so am planning lots of ice cream and chocolate, although this would not be an new thing...
Has anyone tried the new magnum that Gabby from desperate housewives is advertising?

bamamama · 14/05/2008 12:10

Beanie - sorry to hear af got you. Hope you're going to have consilatory (sp?) bottle glass of wine.

Well, rather to admit that the tests weren't out of date at all so a BFN. Twice. As I felt duty bound to convince myself with the other test too. I read 20th October 2007 when in fact it should have read 2010 - July (oops) Anyway, CD30 and still no sign of af. Just have to wait it out I suppose as it seems I'm having one of my long cycles. Bugger. Still feel sick, still sore(ish) boobs, still loads of cm. Will have to remember all this for next month. Perhaps that should be a tip - write down all the 'phantom' pg symptoms so we don't go through this month after month.....

beaniesteve · 14/05/2008 12:13

yellowflowers - EPO (evening primrose oil) is supposed to help withthe production of EWCM (Eggwhite Cervical Mucus) which provides a hospitable passage for the sperm. It's also good for PMT etc.

Bamamama - I'll be having a few glasses this weekend no doubt. Am off on Holiday in 3 weeks, sadly I will have ovulated by then so everything everyone says about being able to relax on holiday won't apply to me, will just have to try just before I go!

babyignoramus · 14/05/2008 12:24

tousletop, Usually there are other signs, lots of cm but not had any of that, which has never happened before - first month of ttc as well (methinks Sod's Law is at work)... had a few cramps yesterday and this morning and feel like AF is on the way, so it may be I'm just having a really short cycle this time, hence the lack of Ov. Or I'm already 'wazzed up' as DH so eloquently put it!

tousletop · 14/05/2008 12:51

I hope you are wazzed up Babyig - not too long to wait before you can test....

Enjoy the wine Beanie, hope you've put some in the fridge already. Where are you going on holiday? At least maybe being away will make the wait next month a bit less painful. I've just realised AF due to arrive next month on the first few days of our long awaited holiday! Extra pressure to try to stop this happening!

tousletop · 14/05/2008 12:57

PS 2BG I'm also v spotty, but have just remebered was like this last month before AF arrived, and the orange woman who sold me moisturiser made me buy some for oily skin Grrr. Everything sounds SO promising for you though.....

2beautifulgirls · 14/05/2008 14:48

So sorry AF arrived Beanie, we must of crossed posts before. Enjoy the wine and holiday, where are you going?

Think i was spotty last month aswell, seems so far away and i have convienently forgotten..

I've just realised that if its not the month this month (which i doubt) then next month around ovulation i will be approx 200 miles away from DH for 3 nights and it will be our last month of trying Meant to be going camping with a friend and the kids.....

Another tip for next month, be within 2 inches of hubby for the Weekend ovulation due

beaniesteve · 14/05/2008 15:43

We're off to sunny Spain, in the mountains.

SweetieDarling · 14/05/2008 22:34

Babyig - sounds like you are at same point as me. Is also cycle 1, also don't feel like I have ovulated this month unlike previous times as have had no symptoms, but am still crossing fingers! Currently on CD20, going to test a week tomorrow. When are you due to test?

Bamamama - I did test 4 days late last time I was ttc and it showed negative. It only showed +ve after 6 days late, so no AF is still good! Have my fingers crossed for you too.

Beanie hope you enjoy Spain and come back all fired up and ready to go again! x

SweetieDarling · 14/05/2008 22:36

Why can I never get damn * * bold * * type to work?!? I have "surrounded it with astericks"

bamamama · 15/05/2008 04:50

beanie - hope you have a fabulous time in Spain.

2BG, I think logistically it may be a bit tricky next month Why is that the last month of trying? (you don't have to answer I'm just being nosy)

sweetiedarling you need to put the astericks around each word! Thanks for the positive vibes.

Well, it's cd31 of a usually 27-29 day cycle here but I suspect af will arrive within the next 24 hours. Even if it doesn't I'm not testing until Saturday (a la the original plan if I remember rightly).

Hope everyone else isn't manically symptom spotting. Nearly the weekend!

babyignoramus · 15/05/2008 07:42

sweetie, have started using FF and it thinks I ovulated on day 9, 11, 12 or possibly not at all(!) - I sneakily fiddled with couple of temps that I thought might not be accurate so we're going with 9 at the moment, which means I need to test on 28th May....

tousletop · 15/05/2008 08:34

Af arrived this morning. Beginning to think that this is never going to happen after 6 months of trying , especially as we BD when OPK became positive, so must have been at the right time, surely...

yellowflowers · 15/05/2008 10:10

I did an early test yesterday - naughty I know. was a BFN. But was, if I am right, only 11DPO. Expecting AF any time between now and Mon/Tues...

OP posts:
bamamama · 15/05/2008 11:48

tousletop - sorry that af got you. They just don't tell you how difficult it is to get pregnant.

yellowflowers - it's so tempting to test isn't it? Even when you know it's too early.

Babyig - don't test early! It's just not worth it [she can talk emotion]

I've been tempted to test again all day so had to keep away from the shops. Still no sign of af although I have been crampy all afternoon so I expect it'll all be over by the morning. Still I did ping the button off my trousers when playing with ds this afternoon - it's a sign of something but I suspect it is telling me to cut down on cake rather than anything else!

2beautifulgirls · 15/05/2008 12:53

tousletop Sorry that AF got you, fingers crossed for next month

yellowflowers i'm also addicted to POAS even thou i know its too early Why do we put ourselves through it.
I really don't think we have GOF enough this month and at the right time so still do not know why i'm POAS at 10 DPO?

bamamama things are looking good for you When are you planning to test again?

Next month should be our last of trying as we are emigrating to America next year April - May time so wanted to give birth here before we go. Have managed to persuade DH to let us have 2 more months of ttc

FruitynNutty · 15/05/2008 13:55

Well you can count me out now.
Just got AF this morning after 13 dpo. I suppose I should be over joyed that I managed to ovulate all by myself for the first time in 6 months (and probably much longer) but I cant help feeling extremely disappointed especially as I might not ovulate again for another 6 + months. We did everything at the right time too, it was perfect! I wouldnt mind if I got a bash at it every month like most people do but obviously I don't stand a hope in hell unless I ovulate. It's sh*t And to top it all off I just got a letter today from the hospital to say my baseline scan has been moved from 7th July to the 29th September. I'll probably have to wait another 6 months to see the Gynae as my August appointment will be pointless without the scan done. What a crock of poo

Good luck to the rest of you though!

happynappies · 15/05/2008 15:22

Am so nervous about this... can I join you? I think I'm due to test on 22nd May - its our first month of ttc, and I think I ov'd on 8th May... I know you're not supposed to do this, but am symptom spotting like crazy and think I have convinced myself am pg - I hope I'm not in for huge disappointment. Good luck to everyone who is still on 2ww - and good luck to those who are trying again next month.

2beautifulgirls · 15/05/2008 18:08

Really sorry that AF came fruitynnutty And for you that the hospital have pushed your appointment back. Could you not give them a call and ask if they have any cancellations to get in touch?

Welcome happynappies and fingers crossed for you. Have you any other DC or will this be your first. It is so had not to Symptom spot on the 2WW. I can't remember how i felt last month, and i was convinced i was pregnant then

happynappies · 15/05/2008 21:54

Hi 2beatiful girls - I have a dd who is just about 18 months old. Fell pg pretty much instantly last time, so keep telling myself it won't be the same this time - but despite that I've still managed to convince myself! Driving dh mad!!! One more week seems like the longest time! A friend of mine announced she was pg today - she's just had her 12 week scan. That seems such a long time... there's so many things to get through - actually getting pg, then all the worry/morning sickness etc... she's so lucky!

yellowflowers · 16/05/2008 10:48

How's everyone today? No AF or spotting yet but you know when you smell like you're coming on - a bit more earthy and womany - or is that way tmi?
Anyway, I feel like that.

2beautifulgirls · 16/05/2008 11:32

Morning yellowflowers Looking good for you apart from the stench

happynappies I convince myself every month aswell, but then still and try and tell myself no way so i am hopefully surprised when and if The 2WW seems like 2 months to me and probably to the DH aswell. I keep asking him do you think this is the month? Why does he think it is? Do my boobs look bigger etc etc!!

I don't think this month is our month, as my boobs have deflated and no longer sore unless i prod really hard stomach ache and back ache this morning plus a lot of CM (not sure if i had this last, oh i wish i knew how to search for last months thread)

How are you bamamama any more testing?

babyignoramus · 16/05/2008 13:19

I've been having cramps and shooting pains around the cervix for the last couple of days but has subsided now. V. bloated too which is quite unusual (quite nice to have an excuse for looking chunky though!). No idea what any of that may mean, if anything!
