Have I missed the boat this month?

Hi can anyone help. I detected my surge yesterday morning (first test in cycle) . Reading blurb it said to have intercourse within next 24-48 hours. Due to DH feeling ill last night the deed wasn't done. I've retested this morning and no surge was detected. Does this mean I've now missed my chance and have to wait until next month ?

Any advice would be great

I'm not much of a expert on this but its probably still worth doing the deed, as when the surge is detected it usually means you are about to ovulate so therefore ovulation could have now taken place and the egg now be ready and waiting.
Sorry if that sounds nonsense but thats how I would be thinking.
