False Positive Test with Sertraline?

Anyone have any experience of a false positive pregnancy test while taking sertraline?

I am on contraception (copper coil) and it feels really unlikely that I could actually be pregnant. To be frank, I'm not having regular enough sex for it to feel likely! So for timing to be exactly right and contraception to fail seems too much. But not impossible, I suppose. It was a really strong, instant positive.

Period due tomorrow so not missed yet - and had my last period at the end of last month as usual. I just had a weird feeling and a test lying around so thought I'd see. Can it even show so strong if it is that early?! We are not trying and not really in a place to be thinking of a baby at the moment to really not sure how to feel about this at all.

Any experiences/advice would be greatly appreciated until I can actually do something like get another test in the morning!

No I'm afraid not. When I tested positive in Sertraline I was pregnant.

The test could be dodgy though. Have you tried a different brand?

Thanks for replying. No, I only had one test and nowhere is open to go and get another now. Planning to get another first thing but currently just lying awake thinking of all the possibilities! It was a Clear Blue test, one of the ones with the cross symbol.

Ok I have now made the mistake of looking at pregnancy when using a copper coil and am now even more terrified at the prospect of an ectopic pregnancy. Any more experience or advice would be very very appreciated
