Irregular bleeding following a still birth

Hi everyone! I lost my beautiful girl Niamh almost 6 weeks ago at 37 weeks. Although it is still very early days, I feel so keen to try again for another baby. Not to replace our baby girl as that isn’t possible, but to fill the emptiness that we are feeling. I had a natural delivery. My bleeding lasted around 2 1/2 weeks and then last Friday I started my first period so around 5 weeks post partum. It was a very heavy period which lasted around 4 days. The bleeding completely stopped on Monday but then on Wednesday and today I’ve had more very light bleeding. Almost like my period starting again! I know cycles can be completely haywire after giving birth, but I had hoped that my period returning quite quickly was a sign that things were going back to normal. We were really keen to try again this cycle but now I’m worried that there’s a chance I might not even ovulate if things are this irregular. If anybody has any wisdom or positive stories about conceiving after a still birth I’d really appreciate it!xx

I'm so sorry for your loss.

6 weeks after giving birth I'd expect you to still be bleeding tbh. That sounds very early for a period.

In the nicest possible way I would definitely be giving your body more time to recover and recoup all its strength and nutrients before you try again. It's a lot of work for your body to grow a baby.

Sorry for your loss
i had a previous 33 week still birth, I only bled for 2 weeks post partpartum and my period returned at 9.5weeks.
I then found out I was pregnant at 14 weeks post partum. It wasn't planned and the toughest 9months mentally but now hes here (18months old exactly) he turned out to be everything we needed to help heal our heart
