DIY pregnancy test

Has anyone tried the baking powder pregnancy test and found it to be true?

after Xmas I was unwell with the flu, vomiting, aches, headaches, cough, no appetite and everything tasted off, could drink tea (went off tea with my other pregnancies). No cold/snot symptoms though. But I did start what I thought was my period 4 days early .. CD22. After 3rd week of feeling rubbish I spent every day after the school run falling asleep on the sofa for 2-3 hours. My friend also caught said flu from me and has been feeling as bad as me but she found out she was pregnant a few days before becoming unwell.

so now I’m wondering if my period was possibly implantation bleeding? I don’t have any pregnancy tests and saw you can use baking powder… it fizzed and bubbled straight away indicating I’m pregnant ( as the test suggests), am I just making mountains out of molehills or have other people had positive results from this?

did I just have flu or do I need to get a real test?

There’s absolutely zero research or evidence which shows that this is effective.

Get a test.

Baking powder is alkaline
Urine is slightly acidic (normally) so mix them and they will react and fizz.
So this means nothing- buy a proper test!

The things we women do! Any time I've not had a pregnancy test and needed one, I've gone and bought one, not raided the baking press😂 Props for ingenuity!
(This is purely lighthearted teasing OP, I promise!)
Go get a test and put yourself out of your misery, hope you get the answer you want😊

Thank you remaining hopeful! Lol I appreciate the humour! And thanks for the other replies!

I think in my heart I knew I wasn’t pregnant just hopeful … I had a MMC found on my 12 week scan last year and wanted to spare myself the heartache of seeing another negative! But I guess pretending for another month wasn’t much better.

i did a test it was negative! Baking powder pregnancy test debunked! For anyone else wondering out there! 😂
