Me and DP used withdrawal method for years and years (pregnancy wouldn't have been a disaster). Started TTC last month.

DTD 19th December (cycle day 13)
Bad period type cramps from the next day to a week later (never happened before) but it was first time sperm has actually been there for many years, so maybe something to do with that).
No more DTD (cramps freaked me out).
Usually my cycle is 29-33 days.
Now at CD 38, which is the longest I've had for at least 2 years, maybe more.
Negative preg tests right up to Friday 10th Jan, which would be over 3 weeks since DTD, so presuming negative. haven't done any more.

I do have signs I may have endo for the past few years, I'm 37 and he is older so time is an issue.

What has happened?? I'm so inpatient to get to the next cycle to hopefully try more, but I'm worried I'm going into to peri or something.

It could be peri, but also could be the curse of starting to TTC and it messing with your mind and your body. X

My cycle is always longer in very cold weather. Apparently it's a thing! But I would agree with PP, ttc can mess with your mental wellbeing which has a knock on effect on your body and ironically your cycle. Good luck.

Thanks I'm really hoping it's just one of those longer cycles. Horrible luck to be the first month we start trying.

TTC changed my usual clockwork cycle at first. It was bizarre. I put it down to two possible things

  1. The stress of starting the emotional rollercoaster
  2. I read somewhere that seminal fluid contains hormones that can confuse our bodies - I’ve seen no data, or real research to back this up but it really makes sense in to my personal circumstances. I’ve been very stressed and had no changes before so why else would it start at the start of ttc? 😂

It has settled now so 🤞
