What day do you start OPK?

And also how many times a day?
Bought a load from Amazon after a recommendation on here and not sure when to start.
AF due next week but had a drop in mood etc yesterday which is usually a sign that nothing has happened this month so planning ahead.

Do you know which day roughly you ovulate on? I usually do 1 a day starting around a week before, then when it starts to surge I do 2-3 a day until I get the peak.

My opk from amazon suggested a day to start testing based on cycle length. So like 28 day cycle, you'd test on day 11 and test at least once a day (apparently twice is better once in morning and once in evening) until you want to stop I guess. I test until day of/day after ovulation just to confirm the lh drop.

I start the day after my period ends. I test once a day initially and then test several times a day (probably far too many!) when my levels begin to rise until I get my peak. My LH levels go from very low to my peak and then back down again to very low in less that 48 hours so my rational for lots of tests after I see an initial rise is so I don’t miss the peak. I do a couple more tests to confirm LH levels are dropping and then stop I until after my next period.

You’ll get to learn what’s normal for you with LH levels after a couple of months and can tailor the approach to yourself.

With OPKs you’re best to do them in the afternoon and evening, not the morning like a pregnancy test. If you start a couple of days after your period and do one in the evening, then two as you see them darkening. I have a clockwork 27/28 day cycle but have ovulated as early as day 13 and as late as day 18, so don’t assume.

You also want to be DTD in the days running up to ovulation not aiming for the day you ovulate itself (and a positive OPK will be a day or so before ovulation) so it helps to see the line progression.
