Giving up

Has anyone ever thought about giving up on the whole ttc? I'm at a weird stage in my mind when I'm starting to give up hope like the whole tracking ovulation can get tiring. I've recently had 5 different tests that have said positive for a few days then I check about 4 days later and each one is negative so I start questioning was I even pregnant did I have a chemical pregnancy as I bled 2 days later or was it just my period as it was due. I'm seeing epu Wednesday so I'm anxious about that. Sorry for the rant

You had a positive digital right? In which case I would say you were pregnant yes but it was a chemical/early miscarriage unfortunately.

I had similar about 15 years ago (was an unplanned pregnancy though). Got a positive 1-2 weeks on a digital then 3 days later woke up and my symptoms were all gone and I started bleeding that day. Pregnancy test was now negative.

They say the chances of having another chemical/early loss are low so hopefully it won’t happen again. It’s a horrible thing to go through but hopefully next time will work out.

Unfortunately I don’t think the EPU will be able to tell you much. They’ll likely just confirm you are not currently pregnant. I don’t think (but I’m not sure) that they’ll be able to confirm or deny a previous pregnancy. But hopefully they’ll at least reassure you that all looks fine if they do a scan.

Really sorry you're going through this @tiffxxx and it really isn't fair that TTC isn't as straightforward for everyone as we're led to believe when we're younger! Agree with @Boxoo that it sounds like you might have had a chemical pregnancy and that EPU won't be able to do much other than confirm you're pregnant or not (with urine/blood test). If your test is positive they might do a scan (depending on your dates) but as PP said, they won't be able to confirm whether there ever was a pregnancy (if negative) unless there is any tissue remaining. I had an early MC in December at 5 weeks, they did a scan at 6 weeks because of continued bleeding to check and all they could tell me was that my uterus lining had returned to normal and the opening to my tubes etc were all ok and expected so could confirm complete miscarriage but couldn't say that there was evidence of the pregnancy - they based that off my blood and urine tests results being positive.

I hope you get on ok and sending massive hugs. It is really hard and requires a lot of strength to keep going after losses but you need to do what feels right for you. It might be you need to take a pause? I did that after an early MC and chemical back to back when TTC #1 then conceived him the first month back trying. Not saying that's how it might work out but I think mentally pausing did me the world of good!
