MMC? Pregnant still?

Hi everyone, hoping to get a few opinions.

I had a few positive pregnancy tests a week ago, I was around 14 days dpo but the lines were quite faint

The last 3 days I've had bleeding which is really similar to how my periods normally start (very slow and light) as it's sooo similar to my period I thought MMC rather than implantation bleeding. I've also not had any pregnancy symptoms.

Anyhow today I took another test showing a really dark positive immediately.

I've read that after MMC, you'll still test positive for a few weeks but is it normal for the line to become a lot darker when before the bleeding they were all faint?

I know only time will tell but I just wondered if anyone has experienced similar? Google gave no answers about the line specifically becoming darker after MMC

Hi OP, best thing to do is contact your local Early Pregnancy Unit for advice. It sounds to me like you’re still pregnant, but I’m not a doctor and even if I was I couldn’t tell you what was going on without an examination/scan! They may want to do scan to check for ectopic pregnancy.

Could you be pg again?
I got pg 1 week after a MMC with surgical intervention at 12 weeks

Hi OP,

At this stage it would be a chemical pregnancy rather than a MMC - still a loss and I'm not trying to minimise anything but it is different.
With a CP, the loss occurs in very early pregnancy (normally before 5 weeks) and you either come on your period as normal or just a few days late and you would quickly start testing negative. Most women are not even aware they've had a CP as they don't miss a period.

If the bleeding was light and you are still getting a positive test with a line that's stronger than before then this doesn't sound like a CP.

I would definitely contact your EPU and explain about the BFP and bleeding as they may wish to investigate the cause of the bleeding

Well you could say that - but she's 19 now and awesome!
I am very sorry if you have had a loss and best of luck to you x

PP is wrong - if you had a positive at 14dpo a week ago then you are now 6 weeks pregnant. CP is 5 weeks or less.

OP - not to scare you but with my recent ectopic I tested positive (faintly) at around 20DPO (I'm sure I would have tested positive before 20DPO if I had tested earlier but due to the bleeding I assumed I was out). I had had intermittent light to heavy bleeding for a week or so prior. I was still testing positive (and getting darker lines as time went on) for another 3 weeks after that. My pregnancy fully ended somewhere around the 6-7 week mark, but blood tests every 48 hours prior to that showed HCG rising and staying static until it finally fell. So basically, you can bleed and still have rising HCG and a progressive pregnancy if it is ectopic. You should go to the EPU as best to find out now if that's the case. Sending love x

I actually did state 'before 5 weeks' in my post and a BFP at 14dpo a week ago would make it 5 or 6 weeks now depending on cycle length and where in the cycle ovulation occurred (and that's if OP is absolutely 100% sure of her dates).

And I also said to contact the EPU.

An ectopic is another possibility unfortunately, again different to CP and MMC. On the flip side, there are also women who bleed for other reasons and go on to have a healthy successful pregnancy.

Thanks so much everyone, really appreciate your input

It's awful just feeling so helpless and waiting to find out what's going on :(

I'll come back with an update hopefully within the next couple of weeks xx
