I guess I’m just looking for the average because to help me accept that’s realistically where I am now.

I’m on CD36. No real idea when/if I ovulated because I thought I knew from a positive LH test but now I think it must’ve been wrong because no way I ovulated on the 14th.

last time we dtd was CD21 - all tests have been negative since.

no period yet. Which is just enough hope to hurt your heart.

Our guess is as good as yours unfortunately, if you're unclear if/when you ovulated, as that's pretty key information for knowing when to expect AF! Have you got a pic of the "positive" OPK? As you say, hugely unlikely it was the 15th December if no AF or BFPs by now. Do you temp? How long are your cycles usually?

To answer your question, I believe pregnancy test results by 11dpo. Any earlier it still could be a false negative, but you'd expect a squinter by 11dpo if it were to be a BFP.

Thanks for replying. I wasn’t really asking for anyone to help me guess if I’m out - but rather when do you consider yourself out? I guess a certain number of DPO will be most people’s answer.

I would love your opinion on my OPK though! I never thought to ask about that on here at the time. It’s not exactly as dark as the test line - or darker - but it’s the darkest line I’ve ever had on an OPK. (I tested with FMU though which I now think is what skewed the results 😕)

After withdrawal bleed, I’ve had 5 cycles since stopping the pill. 39 44 40 37 and now currently on CD37 of 5th cycle.

I think 11 DPO with BFN must mean I’m out realistically. Even if AF started tomorrow- I’d be 14 DPO right now

OP posts:
RRB · 05/01/2025 18:20

Oh wait- it is the bottom line that’s darker. So it was darker than the test line, for a minute I thought I had imagined what I thought was a positive OPK

I got a negative at 11 dpo , took until bang on day 14 until I got the faintest line and 17 dpo when I got a digital result. I'm very well hydrated though . So you're not out until your period starts in my opinion

Thank you. Even if it doesn’t work out for me this month I really appreciate hearing people’s real experiences.

So many people seem to get these 9DPO squinters that it’s good to know there is a larger spectrum for normal.

This ttc experience is a trip!

Absolutely there's a massive spectrum , It's the same With checking line progression. My lines take ages and ages to get very dark. Everyone body is so different and sometimes these posts just add to the anxiety of the whole process

Implantation can happen anywhere between 6-12DPO with majority happening 8-10DPO and HCG takes at least 48 hours to be detectable from them. Plus if you have slower rising HCG it's going to be at least 2-4 days after implantation to get a positive. This range is why tests advise waiting until the day after your missed period (as this would average at 15DPO so you "should" expect a positive by then. But there are so many variables - ovulation date, implantation date, HCG levels, test sensitivity, time of test, hydration etc etc and whilst a lot of tests recommend first morning urine, for some people second is better and some people even get better results in an evening.

Like a previous poster said, you shouldn't could yourself out until AF but I certainly wouldn't count myself out before 15DPO

@rowdowa would you say your cycles are regular?

I've always had lines by 9/10DPO, but in my only pregnancy that didn't end in an early loss, I also had tell-tale signs beforehand too. I was having hot flushes and fatigue from 6DPO with my son. It's how I knew I wasn't pregnant from November's cycle, and why I'm pretty certain I'm not pregnant this cycle either. No signs at all and I'm 9DPO tomorrow.

@RRB I was totally wrong! I've had a positive pregnancy test this morning. Fertility Friend had my ovulation date down as the same day as my positive OPK, which wasn't the case, so I'm actually 9DPO today. Just after I responded in this thread, I started having mild cramps and sensitive boobs. That's pretty unusual for me, and this morning I woke up with a heavy feeling, like period pain and mild cramps along with back ache, so I tested.

I'm hoping that, because I've had some symptoms, this pregnancy will continue 🤞

Please help - is there something there or am I going insane?

This would be my first squinter if it even is positive - CD 40. I have no idea if it’s even possible to go on to be viable. Basically I have no idea about anything anymore. I think I’m officially insane 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I can see a shadow @RRB, but it looks closer to the control line than where the test line would be.

It's an annoying response, sorry, but test again in 48 hours, then you'll know for certain ❤️

This is it with a filter on. Someone recommended I try it. I can definitely see a line there, but don’t know if that counts if you’ve had to filter to see it?

Ohh yes, I can see it there. I'm not sure about filters, but it could be the start of something! 🤞🤞

curliegirlie · 08/01/2025 16:55

Oh wow, together with that positive OPK that's looking very very promising 😁 (OPKs can pick up HCG as well as LH). Good luck!
