BBT Chart- last cycle TTC before IVF

Hello,
long time Mumsnetter reader here! I’ve posted a few times since my TTC journey began 19 months ago for baby number 1 and I always get a little bit obsessed when I enter my second week of the TWW, so wondering if some lovely people could give their opinions/experiences.

We have our first IVF appointment on the 16th of this month- which is a whole lot of nerves but also for the first time in a while some hope too. It’s certainly a rollercoaster of emotions… so this is our last cycle before we get started.

I’m currently in the hellish TWW (I believe I’m 9dpo) and since getting an apple
watch a few weeks ago it’s been automatically tracking my BBT but because I’m new to it there was a couple of days it didn’t take my temperature due to incorrect wrist positioning.

This cycle I got a positive OPK very early
on CD11 (very early for me- the past few months I’ve been getting positive OPKs on CD15, it used to be later but I’ve been having acupuncture weekly since September so it could still be a settling in time period).
I knew I was ovulating due to the cramps and when I tested it was a solid smiley (I used the same OPK CB holder from the previous month so it had my baseline). Managed to get a couple of days BD in even with the surprise early ovulation, but due to my missed temps FF isn’t putting it down as ovulated… anyway!

My chart is attached below… would you say that I have ovulated? And by any miracle has anyone had a chart like mine and got BFP? I have had a few days of sniffles here and there- just general seasonal stuff so might make a difference too with my temps.
God knows when I’ll actually be due on but would love some insights to help my crazy brain from spiralling too much- I know no one can tell me for sure but thank you all in advance 🥰

Hi @MissEmily5, I currently have a dotted line on my chart too as FF just isn't certain when I ovulated due to conflicting data. FF will primarily look at temps, and then consider other data.

I also use an Apple Watch, and I also get a lot of fluctuations. In fact, FF helpfully reminds me that the fluctuations in my temp are not normal, just to rub it in! I've tempted with a basal thermometer before, and it's just how my body is. FF is looking for specific patterns, and I don't seem to follow them.

I've only tempted three times. One was accidental and the time we conceived our son (totally unexpected!) I was in recovery from a D&C and wasn't ovulation testing, I'd been wearing my watch as I was at the gym a lot. I'd had what I thought was a period 9 days previously when I must have ovulated, so it was a shock. Sadly we lost him in September to unexplained premature labour. That chart put ovulation three days after I had actually ovulated - I know it was wrong because I got a very clear positive at 9DPO, but the chart said I was only 6DPO, and the only time we'd done the deed was around 10 days previously - my husband had left to go on a business trip afterwards!

It's a long way of saying I also enjoy putting in the data and watching it unfold, but it's not always the most accurate way of tracking. My first chart was much like yours - temps up and down a lot - and I got the BFP.

I find wearing my apple watch on the inside of my wrist rather than the outside really helped my temps be a bit more consistent and in line with a digital thermometer. I also set up the alarm in the sleep app on my phone, so my watch buzzes gently with no sound at 5am every morning, I turn it off and go back to sleep. It takes my temp immediately as soon as my watch buzzes, so I know it's always at exactly the right time. That's also helped!
