Hi all

I am new here, hoping I am posting this in the correct place!
I was wondering if anyone could help?
I have been TTC since October.
This month my period is late (usually pretty regular) and I have had cramps on and off for the last week. I also feel quite nauseous a lot of the time, especially in the evening.

I did a clear blue early detection test on NYE which came back negative. This was my due date according to the app I use to track.
I am now 2 days late, tested again today and still negative.

I feel a bit stressed out about it because I don't want to get my hopes up but also confused where my period is!

can anyone share experiences? I've read online to wait a week until a missed period to be accurate but then the clear blue ones early detection say you can test 6 days before your missed period so surely they would be accurate?

thanks all

A Similar thing has happened to me in the past. Unfortunately, stress massively affects your periods, so likely that you are just a few days late.
You would most likely get a positive by now.
Sending positive thoughts for 2025.

I would be surprised if you hadn’t got a positive with an early detection test yet, but you never know. Stress really does impact your cycle. You may have ovulated later than you thought or had an anovulatory cycle. You’re not out until AF arrives but equally it would be unusual to not get a positive with a super sensitive test like that when you are two days late IF you ovulated when you think.

I agree with PP and it is most likely stress of ttc and Xmas, also things like drinking more alcohol than usual, change in sleeping habits can all cause hormonal disruptions. It is likely your period is a few days late.

BUT..back in June 2023 I had a negative early detection test the day before period due and the day my period was due, and day after. DH poured me a glass of wine and I only had a sip before falling asleep feeling sorry for myself. I then had a very faint positive the next morning (all tests early detection) and I’m typing this while lying in bed snuggled up to my 10 month old. I’m not saying this to give false hope, just to prove the saying about not being out until your period starts, even with bfn’s, is true, so don’t completely give up hope just yet! If you are out this month, there will
always be next cycle.
Really hope you get good news this year!

Thank you for your replies.

I did wonder with Christmas etc if that has just messed my hormones up.
I will just wait until AF turns up, just so frustrating when ttc and it decides to delay and get your hopes up 🤣
