Pregnancy test messing with my mind!

Hi all, looking for somewhere to rant.
I had a MMC 5 weeks ago managed with a MVA. It took about 4 weeks for my pregnancy test to go negative and has been negative for about a week.

I still haven't had a period yet. I may have ovulated 9 days ago based on EWCM, BBT rising and remaining elevated, but OPKs have been unreliable since my MMC.

We have been having unprotected sex since about 2 weeks post MMC. In the past few days I've felt slightly nauseous, larger breasts and cramps. Assumed my period was coming but no sign so I did a pregnancy test yesterday morning using cheap early detector strips from Amazon. The test came up with a line straight away even before the control. It came up immediately so within the time frame. I was so shocked I told my partner. To check, we did another test from the same batch within 20 minutes of the first one and this was negative. A clear blue digital test is also negative.

I've still got my symptoms but my BBT has fallen today so I don't think I'm pregnant and want to know what I did wrong with the first pregnancy test - why was it positive when another was negative straight away after? Have I read it wrongly? I'll try and attach a photo so please tell me if I have! I was careful not to get any other part of the test wet. Is it an evaporation line? I feel like it's enough to go through a miscarriage but then for pregnancy tests to start messing with my mind it's made me so miserable!

Can you post a pic of the other tests you took that are negative?

Sorry for what you've been through in the last few weeks, can't comment for sure on if it's a positive ir not but those tests are notorious for evaps, I had a few myself when trying for ages before having ivf, they're so awful getting goes up. Maybe get an early detection first response one as the digital take alot more hcg to get a positive, or you can have hcg checked if its driving you mad (I did this when pregnant from ivf, was about £50 and got a same day result by going to a clinic)

Hopes up, lots of typos there sorry!

Looks positive but those tests aren't the best..

I have used these tests for years without any problem. The NHS and early pregnancy unit uses them too.

I would say that test is postive! Test again in a few days 🍀

Thanks so much for everyone that messaged. Just an update for anyone following this now or in the future wondering what is happening. I started my period a few hours after posting yesterday’s message. No idea why that test read as positive on Sunday despite the immediate negatives that followed! Don’t think I’ll ever trust a test again. Good luck to everyone TTC. Hope January brings good news to you all.

Perhaps this was a chemical pregnancy as sounds just like what happened to me in the summer. My tests were very faint and then went to negative a few days later when my bleeding started. So sorry x
