Irregular period reducing breastfeeding / low progesterone?

My DD is 15 months old and for the last 7 months or so I've been having fairly regular/predicable periods (back to 28/29 cycle) whilst still breastfeeding and for the last few months gave been TTC baby 2. This month I started a new "period" on day 10 of my cycle, this was only a few days after the last one ended
I've never has this before. I know my hormones will still be settling a but with reducing BF as I am now down to one feed per day, but I'm scared now this means low progesterone which obviously isn't good for conception. I'm 37 and DD took 2 years to conceive so I'm worried.

I've been bleeding lightly (assuming because there's not enough build up of lining) for 5 days now.
Does anyone have any advice on how to rectify this for next month and going forward? I'm guessing my next period won't come as normal now.

I am in a similar situation where I am trying for baby no 2 but still breastfeeding 1.5 year old. Sadly I had an ectopic 2 weeks ago so I’m recovering and soon back to trying again. The ectopic happened our first month of trying so I guess I conceived quickly in the wrong place. Same as you my first took 2 years. When did you reduce your breastfeeding? I’m still on about 3 feeds a day , morning afternoon and bedtime.

Thanks for replying and I'm pleased you conceived quickly this time as I know how hard it is when it takes a long time, but really sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy. Hope you recover quickly.

I dropped the day time nap feed about 5 weeks ago as I was expressing to give milk to nursery 3 days a week and it was all getting too much with working as well, so for the last 5 weeks or so we've been on one feed. I guess that could explain a change of hormones as well. It actually feels like longer but I just went back to read an old message to someone where I told them I'd dropped that feed, just to see how long ago it was.
I just thought it was strange as BF has reduced gradually over time and since my period came back it's been regular.

I feel really sad at the thought of completely stopping BF but also want to get my body right to TTC as soon as possible given my age and not wanting a big gap between them.

I'm going to look up what vitamins are best to take for fertility and age too.

I am the same where I am concerned about my hormones while TTC. If it’s any comfort every single consultant , midwife and specialist I’ve spoken to has said breastfeeding doesn’t really affect TTC , it might just make it harder to catch if your cycles are irregular. My own personal opinion is I am not sure, part of me was blaming breastfeeding as the reason for my ectopic but then I had a c section last year which can be a risk factor so who knows. I also feel sad about stopping breastfeeding but i guess I need to stop at some point and might easier now rather than later.

With your irregular bleeding I would mention it to GP. They can checks for hormones. Have you done a pregnancy test?😁
