Missed ovulation - Letrozole

Hello! Keen to hear if others have had a similar experience. Last month was my first letrozole cycle and I got a positive OPK on CD17 - much earlier than I’d had before. I’m now on my second cycle and stupidly didn’t start testing until CD14, when I had EWCM. I had a strong (but not positive) line and since then all of my OPKs have been super light/BBT raised (I didn’t temp before ovulation but similar to post ovulation temps from other cycles). Feeling like such an idiot and frustrated at a wasted cycle. Have others ovulated at different times on Letrozole?!

I did three rounds of letrozole and I can't quite remember if one of them shifted ovulation differently to the others, but the advice i was given was to make sure we were having sex every other day from the end of your period. I was also having monitoring scans from CD10 I think? Then there's no chance of missing ovulation. If it's working properly, you will be having a "normal" cycle so ovulation much more likely to be days 14-17 and really you want the sperm to be waiting for the egg to be released, so that means making sure you are having sex from around day 10-11.

Thank you @CrispAppleStrudels ❤️. My first cycle was monitored but from cycle two you’re on your own! I think because ovulation was SO late before (day 35 or so) I just assumed day 17 was my “normal” on letrozole. Won’t make the same mistake next time. If you don’t mind my asking, how did you get on?

Ah yes you are bringing back memories now! DD1 was a letrozole baby when I was 34. First and second cycle were monitored and we had to increase the dose between them as well so i think it was either 5mg or 7.5mg. She was conceived on the third cycle, which was unmonitored. DD2 was a natural conception last year when I was 37 (but I lost about 12kg in the run up to TTC again, which I think massively helped reset everything). I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was around 28.

Thank you, really appreciate hearing other people’s stories. I’m on 5mg and haven’t officially been diagnosed with PCOS but have polycystic ovaries and long/irregular cycles so. Here’s hoping cycle three is my lucky one too!
