Successful pregnancy stories after ectopic?

So I have recently had surgery for ectopic and they had to remove tube. Thankfully kept my ovaries and second tube. I have a one year old so the pregnancy happened quicker than we expected just not in the right place!

Has anyone successfully conceived with only one tube? How long did it take you after ectopic? Consultant said we can start trying ‘right away’ but will probably take a little recovery time. He also confirmed a bit of endo on surgery.

Hi there, so sorry for your loss.
Been a while since I've written this down as I'm older now so bear with!
Yes, I conceived after 3 ectopics and a tube loss. He's now 15.
First ectopic was full op and tube removed, then 2 more one treated with methotrexate and the last one my amazing consultant managed to save my last tube by opening it and 'soldering' it back up.

We conceived two months after trying and he's now a teen. We were told 50/50 chance and so lucky.

Good luck with your onward journey, I found the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust really helpful and supportive.

Hi! Just wanted to say I had my dd then a ruptured ectopic and tube removal. Waiting 3 months to start trying again post surgery and got pregnant with my son about 6 months later. I’m so sorry for your loss - I grieved for a long time after mine but my kids are approaching teens now. Also I found the ectopic pregnancy trust a great source of comfort. There are many many successful stories there of women conceiving after an ectopic xx

I had my left tube removed due to an ectopic and conceived my son two tries later, he's 3 now. I am also pregnant with a surprise pregnancy now. Both this pregnancy and my son came from my left ovary, the eggs got picked up by the right tube!

I have one tube and one ovary following an ectopic twenty years ago. I went on to be blessed with four children.

I had a ruptured ectopic Nov 23, lost my left tube post keyhole surgery. Was advised to wait 3 months before trying again. Waited 3 months and conceived first try! Had a healthy baby girl that arrived 2 weeks early this October. Feel so grateful and blessed. Loosing a tube (or both!) definitely isn’t gameover, there are other options. Wishing you lots of positivity and recovery. It’s tough.

I had an ectopic in May 2019, ruptured and tube removed. Got pregnant after being told to wait 3m to try, first cycle, healthy, full term pregnancy. Then when we decided to try for another when our eldest was just over a year, got pregnant second cycle and had a second boy 22m after my first. Both pregnancies I ovulated from the side I dont have a tube and it caught anyway! Age 33 and 35 at the time of conceptions.

Mum had me and my brother after an ectopic in the late 80s, was told she would likely never be able to have children. She’s now a wonderful grandma to my baby. Wishing you all the best.

Sorry for your loss OP Flowers
I've lost 3, no living children, but not from ectopic. A close friend lost a tube due to an ectopic. I work in healthcare and read that if you lose a tube, instead of ovulating from each ovary each month, the one side left will instead ovulate monthly. I have no idea how the remaining ovary and tubes knows to do this though?

Anyways, my friend had years of IVF and losses with her 1 tube. Told she'd never have children and to consider adoption. She then had a baby, and when he was 3mths old conceived twins!!! She had 3 under 18mths for a time.

I'm so sorry for your loss 💐💐💐

After my ectopic I went on the pill because after the tube removal I found periods very painful. Anyway I did 9 months on the pill and came off and got pregnant with DD the same month.
That was my only first month trying getting pregnant, the others when I had both tubes took months and in one case a few years.

Please look after yourself and I hope you update us one day with news of a success pregnancy x

Wow I am blown away by all these amazing positive experiences! Honestly one of the things I feel the most today is physical relief as I didn’t realise how worn down my body was from the ectopic. I feel like me again despite being sore and a bit sad on and off. Truly grateful for for my health today.

I am also feeling so blessed to have a beautiful 1 year old boy. When I was in hospital I saw some people getting treated for some scary situations (cancer biopsies etc). It really hit home how fragile life is and how lucky I am to live in a world of modern medicine where things can be treated successfully.

All these amazing stories are giving me lots of positive feelings for the future.
