Am I massively overthinking this?!

As my username - I can be a massive over thinker and worry myself silly sometimes but just after some thoughts on this.

DH possibly had the flu recently (high temp, tight chest and cough, no energy) he was ill from last week Thursday - right up until about Tuesday this week until he felt better.

Last night we had sex and I know I am ovulating right now - (we have agreed we're ready to try for another child). However after we ddd, he googled and has worried me now by saying sperm can be affected after suffering from the flu. As in, it can affect the sperm count but also the quality... now me being me - I've also been googling and have seen that it can be linked to causing miscarriages, and even deformities in DNA which can of course affect a baby.

I'm worried now. Has anyone got anymore information on this or personal experience They can share at all? Or am I being a massive over thinker on it?

As a fellow overthinker I totally get you hahaha, but I really doubt it would affect sperm right? I might Google this myself 😂 xx

Yes, yes you are.

Did he ACTUALLY have the flu or just a bug? If you have flu you literally cannot get out of bed for a week. If he had a cold it can make you want to sleep and rest, but flu is completely debilitating

Definitely over thinking

I can be a complete overthinker myself so can understand how Google makes you spiral. I've learned that no matter what you Google you'll find the horror stories that part of your brain is drawn to. So in the gentlest way, put the phone away and stop overthinking it!
As another poster said above, are you sure it was even the flu? A lot of people use the word flu but actual flu is debilitating, non stop fevers, rigouring with fever, all over aches and pains, can't move from the bed kind of symptoms. Either way, try not to dwell.
